More importantly, does City Data need another thread about malls and other retail stores on the Central Coast?

No. the city needs a girlfriend, or something else to occupy his time. Go hiking or camping, learn to surf, fish, lift weights, talk to a girl. DO SOMETHING ELSE!!!

Why don't you just move to LA or SF instead of hoping SLO turns into another overpopulated mess?

SLO does NOT need more chain clothing stores. There are plenty of stores already and if you can't find what you want there, you probably don't need to wear it. A town with a small population like SLO couldn't even support a sudden increase in chain openings. And it would be a shame for SLO to look like everywhere else. Its charm lies in its distinctiveness.

Well, there are only 2 shopping centers that haven't passed in the county yet. The San Luis Obispo Promenade 2 that Ernie Dalidio sold to new developers, and the The Annex shopping center in Atascadero next to where Super Wal-Mart is going.
