FYI...I don't gather around anybody to teach me simply due to the above. There is NO CONSISTENCY in teaching when it comes to Christianity...every church and denomination has their own interpretation of what the bible says and most will accept whatever their particular church is teaching as "sound" doctrine. What I know, I've learned from many years of critical study...I've removed my blinders and have kept an open mind...nor do I reject concrete evidence because it contradicts what the bible says (a man-made collection of books written by many people and some authorless). While I accept that some of the writers may have been inspired to write certain things, it wasn't dictated by God and everything they wrote still went through the filter of their brain and their cultural bias.

Does that include the one about stoning women to death who arrive at the marriage alter without being a virgin?

Why the vitriol? I'm just trying to have a civil conversation. For a person that claims to be so loving, you sure are mean.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

I don't have any problem with that...it is in perfect harmony with ONENESS.

You stated to me: So you don't know them...you're just spouting off what someone else said. gotcha.

Perhaps you should look at that log in your own eye.

Can you back up what you say? You throw out wild statements and you can't back them up? Then you get snippy with me when I questioned you on them.

It may not add up to 30,000, but there's a metric ton of them. And they disagree about a great many things! While it should come as no surprise to you that I don't think any of them have it right, consider this... The best case scenario is that one, and only one, does.

I will agree--there are a lot. But not 30k.

There are also some in that list that are about as Christian as the pope is Baptist.

Says you?

And let me guess, you managed to pick the ONE on that list, that has everything right?

I think so, yeah. Of course, there are many on that list that disagree with me in things like worship style, and non-essential theology. Many of them only differ in stuff like church hierarchy. I came close to being hired as a pastor in an E Free church, and another was a Baptist. I am now a non-denominational church pastor. I'd have been fine in all 3.
