Then I added brown rice and 2 cans of northern beans. So now I have this "huge" pot of soup on the stove and it's only two of us. I call it the exploding pot syndrome. I do the same thing with salads.

Who else is guilty of this?

I don't even know why they make pots smaller than 6 quarts...

I think I feel a spaghetti fit coming on soon though...
I got a box of See's Candies for my birthday. All my favorites. Especially Coconut Special and dark chocolate walnuts. DD picked just what I like.

Of course I will add my prayers to the amassed positive regard, good karma, prayers and thoughtful intentions directed toward the health of Kelsie's family.

Kelsie please know that I am holding you and your family in my thoughts.

younglisa7...I've got the "exploding pot syndrome" too, but it has more to do with my pants not fitting since the holidays.

Tonight it's grilled salmon, baked acorn squash and a salad. Maybe I'll let DH have a roll if he's real nice to me. He has the syndrome too.

Ha, ha. I got that too but I swore I would not pull out my fat pants. I have jeans in about 4 different sizes. The largest ones I don't want to see for at least 10 more years maybe longer. If I find good new looking jeans for 50cents to $3.00 I stock up. I know it's a sickness but I figure you can never go wrong with jeans.

Yesterday I made chicken Tikka Masala and it was surprisingly easy and good! Wow, now I won't have to pay like 10 bucks for a small serving of that stuff at a restaurant. I also made some jasmine rice (Basmati rice is so expensive now!) and pretended the pita bread was naan.

DH doesn't like Indian foods, I fried up some ham steak and potatoes for him.

Tonight is Japanese style chicken nuggets and stir fried veggies and rice.

How do you cook the chicken nuggets....as you may have noticed....I am always interested in learning Japanese dishes.....as my partner is from Kyushu....and I try to adapt American foods to Japanese treatment.

Tonight it is pan grilled salmon filets...(with a little kikoman teriaki marinade)....rice and yellow squash.
