In my opinion I think the same issue would still be there, no matter what religion the Palestinians follow. Although it is called a Muslim/Jew Issue it is more a Palestinian/Israel issue. In the Past nearly 30% of all Palestinians were Jewish. Palestinian and Arab Jews are now nearly extinct in both Palestine and Israel.
The only thing I see that would satisfy the Palestinian People is full return of their Grand Parents homes.

Yes I am Jewish, and yes I do defend the right of Israel to exist. I also have said many many times that Palestinians need to have a state. There needs to be a 2 state solution. But for that to happen the Palestinians need to move towards state building and away from violence and terrorism.
Israel needs to have a peace partner.
Yes there has been violence on BOTH sides and it will take a long time before either side learns to trust. But that will happen when the Palestinians stop the incitement, stops shooting rockets into Israel.
Israel needs to remove the settlements, Israel needs to leave the West Bank, but that will not happen if Israel is not sure that it will end up like Gaza did after they left Gaza.
