I don't see why his values would change just because Ned isn't his real father. And if anything I would think Jon would have even more respect for what Ned did. Claiming Jon as his bastard wasn't easy, and could have caused a great deal of trouble. But instead of taking the easy way, Ned kept his promise.
Of course Jon will probably feel upset and betrayed at first, but I can see him coming around and saying that Ned did what he had to do.

It looked like he was still on the top of the wall when it,totally crashed down.

Seriously, it looks like Tormund, and maybe Beric, ran along the top of the Wall, and made it to the part still standing. But in typical GoT fashion, we won't know... until we know.
