Ridiculous if a 3 month extension passes only in march only to discuss it again shortly after. It looks grim to me hearing that the house is going on vacation again after next Wednesday. The **** that will go down there will put the Senate to shame once this bill gets there

Bottom line is it seems like we're ****ed. I think it's time we start emailing really big news outlets in droves to get some fire under their asses.

No the schedules are not absolute. Harry Reid; as leader of the Senate; can change things on a moments notice, so an EUC extension vote could happen at any time. It's just a question of getting 60 votes.

I told you guys at the beginning of the month the bill was dead already, its still amazing that Republicans are expected to win the Senate and keep control of the congress this year 2014..We are very stupid as Americans for allowing this party to keep Corp. welfare and give the American worker the finger! Don't blame Harry, he just wanted to continue same benefits as last year, GOP said no way. Make the GOP pay big time for this one come election season. I feel really sorry for people still expecting benefits, it was the best Christmas gift the GOP ever gave in Dec.! Get mad, get angry and make the GOP pay!!

Perhaps in 1-2 months, and with a shorter duration, most likely less than a year maximum. I would expect the U6 rate to drop again in the meantime, so by time it passes, a rate of 6.5% or less will not surprise me, and it will make it less of a sure thing vote.

After the farm bill vote is done tomorrow afternoon, a window will open for the Senate to address UI. Millions of Americans are suffering needlessly, and speaking out about it. Congress has to do something!

Very good advice. NY Times study a while back showed those unemployed under 6 months were being hired (control study, same industries, experience, etc) at about 3 times the rate (%) as long-term unemployed.
