Adding a roof rack to Cube wouldn't be my choice. A swing away is more accessible, and easier to remove.

Roof rack and box will significantly effect economy and add perpetual labor to the engine. And you could fall climbing up and down to fetch stuff. If you were 40 yrs younger... A roof tent might be handy.

I agree. I think the swing away would be the best to get. Now the search is on! I have plenty of time yet so will search marketplace and the ads in our local paper. Will also use word of mouth. Plenty of farmers and other country folks here. Someone may know someone who wants to sell.

As a last resort I'll try Amazon.

The ultrasound was an interesting experience. The first part was approximately 45 minutes and concentrated on the cartaroid arteries on both sides of the neck. She was very thorough. The next part was the heart, 30 minutes, and included a 'bubble test', which is where they inject a dye and then pump air into a vein and they look for bubbles around the heart which would indicate a hole in the heart. She said this happens sometimes as we age and can be the cause of heart attacks.

Next, radiology will read the tests and inform my Doctor of the results.. This will take a few days.

This is very interesting. I've never had an ultrasound test.

I wish you the best, & the most positive of results, meo.

Yikes, we're in a high wind alert for 3+ hours. Winds 50-70 miles. Things, branches, etc are hitting this trailer and it sounds terrible out there.

Does that sort of thing happen often up there, Meo?

Very, very seldom. But this has been such a strange year weather-wise for everyone and there have been a couple of times that there have been straight line winds. This is the first time since I came back in May though.

We do get the occasional tornado warning but I don't think we've actually had one in years.

Was hoping to get a call from the doctor but didn't, hopefully I will hear soon.

After the storms here it turned cold, which was refreshing after the heat and humidity. Marigold was so frightened of the storms she has stuck like glue by my side. This is the first time in months that she's been her old self and wanted to spend most of her time on my lap cuddling.

I wonder if she can sense that I am starting to prepare for our traveling. Still a couple months out but starting to use up groceries and get clothes together. I have a more realistic idea of what to take and what to leave here for next spring.

Of course, this is all contingent on my test results, but I am hoping that not hearing from them yet is a good sign.

I binge watched Minivan Lee's utube videos yesterday. I enjoy watching the way she describes her nomad life. At times it's frustrating because she emphasizes exercising and, once in awhile insists that it's a state of mind that a person can't do it. Sometimes I just want to shout back that some of us have had accidents that make it hard to do things, but then I simmer down.

It's frustrating because, before the car accident I could do so much and even though I chant my mantra to myself, (at least I can still walk, etc.), it's still frustrating. I've fallen a couple of times trying to do something I can no longer do and have been successful in getting myself up but I have to be careful. That's about the only time I feel old. Usually I feel much younger and forget that I'm almost 68.

I believe this lifestyle has helped me so much in that regard. Because it's so new to me, I do constant research to find out ways to do it, what others have done, products that have been successful, how to stay healthy, etc. So my mind keeps busy.

Then there's the 'awe' aspect, when I saw the beauty of nature. An Arizona sunset and sunrise. The majestic mountains. Just the raw beauty of nature. My sister mentioned that I looked so happy when I came back, something she hadn't seen in a long, long time and that's why they (family) are encouraging me to keep doing it. They don't really understand how and why I like living in a small car, but they continue to support my decision.

I explained that seeing all that beauty and the wonders of nature, you can't help but feel blessed and happy. That looking out the windows of a car at the stars is totally different from looking at them from the windows of a house.

As much as I'm appreciative of this trailer, I long to be on the road again. Even when I was parked in Quartzsite for so long, it was with people who had the same mindset. There was no explaining to do as we were all doing it for the same reason. It's hard to explain the freedom of the road unless you've experienced it. I know I never understood until I'd done it.
