These are YOUR issues. The United States isn't as nearly a bad a place as you like to make out. The US South isn't nearly as bad a place as you make out. Sure there are bigots, but there are far far more kind nice people out there.

Here's a tip. You find what you look for.

As far as Trump is concerned, that's silly. I'd take the bet that he wouldn't. He's employed Gays & Lesbians for a long time, and of course he's been a part of the entertainment business for a long time.
Except for Nancy Pelosi, Trump has given every political opponent in his orbit a snarky nickname. Mayor Pete will be no different.

Default WoW - Pete Buttigieg has gone from totally unknown to polling third in Iowa and New Hampshire

Man. In just 1 month or so's time Pete Buttigieg has boomed in popularity to be challenging the two very old and tired "front runners" for the Democrat nomination. With this kind of momentum, the young and energetic Mayor Pete poised to move ahead of both of the 80 year olds. Two old guys good at supporting war, but never putting on the uniform to fight in them.

That's amazing when you consider that "beh toe", Harris, Pocahontas and Spartacus are all better known career establishment politicians.

Another old guy good at supporting war, but never putting on the uniform to fight in them: Trump. Or his father (overbilled government for housing built for military during WWII) or his grandfather (tried to re-immigrate to Germany but was denied for being considered a draft-dodger). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Trump Thanks Bavaria.
