Independent Ukraine? Who's government is surviving on loans from the US? If Ukraine isn't obedient then the loans don't show up now do they? How's that independent?

The US has loaned Ukraine 1 billion a year since 2014. Ukraine's annual budget is about 37 billion. It seems they would survive if they had to borrow this on the market, just pay a higher interest rate. Ukraine actually had a budget surplus in 2017 so its hard to say who's independence is at stake, but perhaps in your world it is the recipient of cheap loans.

Any country can do that, its called printing money. Zimbabwe and Venezuela...
.....comparing Zimbabwe to Venezuela is as asinine as comparing Russia to Venezuela.....Venezuela is at least a natural resource rich country, Zimbabwe is a landlocked country that does not literally produce anything since the collapse of its agriculture sector.....I would say that Venezuela, if well managed, would have a better future than Ukraine....
