The Ukranian army has been waiting patiently for ~ 8 years, and now, with only 150.000+ Russian soldiers at the border, the timing for a deep risky operatiom is ideal.
This is definitely not a false-flag situation as predicted by NATO.

Attacking the LDNR was NEVER a good idea for Ukrainian army (and this includes irregular Nationalist battalions.) But at this point, with Blinken officially setting them free from Minsk agreement, with mass media campaign preparing ( or rather brainwashing) Western public for the "Russian aggression," and Russian Duma voting on recognition of the LDNR, this is actually not a bad timing to attack the LDNR, since Russian army is not THERE, but on the Russian territory.
120,000 of Ukrainian military concentrated on the LDNR border ( at least that's what LDNR is reporting) plus 15 planeloads of weapons supplied by US/Great Britain within the last few weeks makes it all even more possible.

What are you saying?
If Russia attacks it will be over for the Ukrainian army in a few short days. It will cease to function as a viable force in hours most likely, either running or being torn to pieces where and when it digs in.
There's a reason the governments have moved west.
A Red Cross convoy has been shot at on the front. There is shooting all along the entire front apparently. It's time for Russia to end this farce.
The suburbs of Donetsk have been hit with what is apparently simply random artillery fire. It's said 7 to 10 shells landed on a road in what appears to be a random fashion. There were not any DNR military on the road at the time nor had there been recently. No one was killed but some people houses were shot up. It's harassment and it is ongoing.
The crews have full kit. The tanks have new bagged reactive armor slung on their sides (along with the regular Kontakt 5 elsewhere) and one is equipped with a mine removal set up. They also have the light green fuel drums on the rear which may be full or not, these extend their range. This is a breakthrough platoon or command section. These are T-72 B3 at 45 seconds as were the ones on the move.
The tanks are not whitewashed but they may have winter camo gear stowed away.
From the video i was able to get the general area they're in which is 4 to 9 miles from the border. mere minutes.
Indeed they are evacuating children and elderly from Donetsk to Rostov region.
You can see the children getting ready and the stream of cars heading out of LNR in Russian direction
So apparently the LDNR is serious about the upcoming attack while watching the increasing enemy fire along the whole front line, because if they staged the whole evacuation scene, it's sure like heck more expensive than staging the "shelling of the nursery" as Zelensky did.
And yes, the chemical attack ( sort of) was already attempted close to the LDNR border, but it was averted.
The DNR is announcing mobilization of volunteers - anyone who is ready to fight.
Two major explosions in Lugansk overnight; the gas pipe "Friendship" ( the oldest one going to Germany) and presumably some gas station on the outskirts of Lugansk.
The first fire has been put out, they were working on the second fire.
They suspect the subversive activities, since shortly before there was already an attempt to blow up the ammonia storage tanks at the local chemical plant in Gorlovka, and yet another attempt to blow up the local oil tank.
But both attempts were thwarted.
25, 000 refugees already arrived to Rostov region in Russia.
The governor of Rostov region asked Putin for help.
( I am going through the latest Russian news here.)
