I'm torn between "that's a bit rude"
People in this region are working class. They may act as rednecks. Fist fighting and so on. And they may feel that they have nothing in common with the people from the capital.

There is one item that is particularly shocking in this whole story : not the existence of extreme right parties in Ukraine (Svoboda and Pravyi sector) and their share in the new combination of power in Kiev.
What is shocking is that the USA and UE government and media , mostly left wing or liberal , are abetting and aiding those same extreme right parties that they fight at home. Such a level of hypocrisy is mind blowing!

Their government is fascism. Who bombed the city with bombs every year under the guise of a false democracy? so no need to dissemble. And falsely blamed for what is not.

GK...

I don't know exactly what will happen but with Mr. Putin and his band getting some little victories here and there with his 'destab' plan but he just might get some comeuppance if he doesn't pay attention to his economy as opposed to fiddling around in other people's backyard. Specifically, Russia isn't doing well economically and the prognosis is for recession if not already. Russians, who are 'happy' now getting Crimea, may rue the invasion and Putin's concern of 'politics' over his people.

So figure on the future scenario being that the incidence of destablization by Russia towards Ukraine will be in direct proportion to the tightening and eradication of its 'economy' which, in fact, is simply an energy sector. I'm afraid the average Russian and is family may have to pay a big price shortly for Putin's ridiculous forays and posturing. Russiai may think it can digest the Crimea and infect the Ukraine but at the last it could be its poison to perhaps take down its own country. Perhaps it may be just a matter of time before those who 'complain' are labeled as 'traitors'.

Today president Putin made a speech. He said that Eastern and Southern Ukraine ninety years ago were belonged to Russia and it was wrong to join them to Ukraine in 1920s. And he dropped a hint that Ukraine will disintegrate like Yugoslavia: "Politics of section, stripping, weakening both sides of whole nation continues. Someone is afraid of our power. Look at Yugoslavia and what they did with it. Apparently, they wants to do the same with us. If you look at what is happening, you will answer the question who achieves that".
