I'm not hearing that from Bernie. I'm hearing that he will force corporations to pay their fair share, that is companies like GE and Exxon that pay $0 or even get subsidies and have a negative effective tax rate will be forced to pay what is fair. He's not going to raise taxes on the middle class or the poor. His tax structure will be progressive, I believe.

I don't believe he will dictate every little thing either. Unless you mean telling polluters to pay, or telling bankers and stock market speculators to f-off, etc.

Oh gee whiz, I shore am sorry massa, I didn't know I couldn't think outside da box fo' a moment without havin' ta change mah identity. Lordy, lordy I neva' roam again.

Get bent. trying to set me up for dismissal and I didn't even say I preferred Bernie for his political views. In fact, I stated that I think he's too far left in that very post you quoted, genius.

One thing I hate about people on both sides is that they think they know my political preferences better than I do. To liberals I'm just a "right-wing gun totin' nut job" and to conservatives I'm a "gay lovin' liberal hippie huggin' the trees."

You know why they do that? To negate me, to easily dismiss anything I have to say that doesn't immediately fit their personal narrative.

You know what I feel like you're doing right now? Exactly that, buckwheat.

I am a centrist. I am a centrist because I can look at things objectively without feeling as though I have to agree or disagree with them because it's popular or I need to conform to my immediate peers. I lean right because I find myself agreeing with a lot of points the right make. I am not entirely rightist because I don't agree with everything they say.

I don't agree with Bernie Sanders on quite a few things. I do agree with him on some things. However, when I say he's an honest man who has provided real proof of his endeavors and has been consistent for decades; that doesn't mean I am on board with him politically. That's me commenting on what kind of human being he is.

It seems though that to you, complimenting an opponent for any reason is just as good as switching sides. I repeat, get bent with that garbage.

Cruz has said so many stupid and violent things that I honestly can't list them all from memory. Honestly, just google the guy and listen to him. He even whined about the money he spent on a losing campaign. Yeah, I feel so bad for millionaire Cruz.

The guy has some serious anger management issues. He also harbors a strong desire to directly govern people's individual lives. How can you be for small government and yet be in favor of a guy who thinks masturbation should be considered a crime? Come on, now.

Maybe this is a bit of an over-reaction but it's a long time coming. I'm sick and tired of people pointing the political party finger at me like they have any clue what I think. I'm sick of people misunderstanding what "centrist" means. I'm sick of people not being able to separate a person's personal merits from their political affiliation.

I'm sick of people, plain and simple.

Bernie is a self-proclaimed Socialist. Socialism means high taxation and high regulation. Socialism is also anti-capitalist. Socialism spreads misery. Socialism / Social Democracy is killing Western Europe. Literally.

I did not support Cruz, BTW, due to his unlawful, PC immigration policy.

But in characterizing Cruz, I do not think you have any original thoughts at all. NONE. All the insults you hurled at him are media insults thrown at him. Verbatim.

Cruz said violent things to say? For example?

Cruz wants to outlaw masturbation? Stop reading Marxist rags like Mother Jones, which pretzeled the truth. As Texas AG, Cruz cited / referenced a 1985 Texas Court ruling as "people can't masturbate." Rags like Mother Jones, Salon.com, etc took that out of context as if Ted Cruz believed it.

I don't see you characterize Hillary this way. Or Bill Clinton, who actually raped. Yet, in total drone-fashion, you hit Cruz who has done nothing.

You also have yourself to blame for labels. You box yourself into a stupid concept such as "Centrist", and blame others for calling you out on it?

Are you still living here?

I've only been in NYC for 7 months and am already planning to leave NYS ASAP. It's a little tough right now as I'm still new in my current job but it should be possible later this year or next year.

NYC and NYS represent a government of the public sector union worker, by the public sector union worker and for the public sector union worker.

NYC likes to talk a lot of s*** about how it's the financial capital of the world and what have you but the (5) largest employers in NYC by far are government.

I told my trainers that, when I walk from the gym to my office on days I workout during the week, I'm not a guy going to work rather a sheep on its way to the slaughterhouse. We pay insane taxes to be ripped off by the public sector unions.

Remember, in other cities, people refer to figurative or metaphorical s*** on the streets or s*** here and there. In NYC, it's biological feces on the streets. The only question is whether it's human, dog, rat, or horse feces. That's all NYers get for their taxes are feces on the streets and a boated public sector union workforce (they're essentially one and the same).

I've seen that calculator and its extremely dishonest because it doesn't account for what you save from having your taxes raised. For example, if I pay $600 a month in healthcare costs through my employer, and that goes away because the government is taxing me $500 a month extra for single-payer, I am ahead by $100 a month. Plus I have healthcare no matter what, if I switch jobs or whatever. Its no coincidence that the economy got better when Obamacare was implemented.

Nonetheless, that calculator doesn't account for that.

And I don't agree with everything that Bernie is saying, but overall, I feel that he is most honest, most fair, least warmongering, most principled person out there right now. Also, we've tried trickle-down capitalism and it doesn't work. Bobby Jindal did it in Louisiana and Louisiana is dead broke. Sam Brownback did it in Kansas and Kansas is a mess right now. They tried it in Michigan and now a whole city is drinking industrial wastewater from the Flint River. So, lets try something new. Bernie has different ideas. I'm open to trying them.

Do you really want a lunatic like Trump or a paid-off liar like Hillary as your president?!

This is my last post with regard to politics though. There's no point in arguing politics with people I don't know. I'm not going to change your mind and you're not going to change mine. So, its pointless.

If Sanders' policies are enacted, the ONLY guarantee is reduced take home pay and less economic growth.

There could be some health care savings but, given the government's record, I'd say the chance of that happening are <<<1%. If higher taxes were good, then this thread wouldn't exist as people wouldn't be leaving NY in droves.

Sanders isn't offering anything different -- he's offering NYC/NYS on steroids.

You're an idiot.

You're making so many assumptions about me. You refuse to go research anything for yourself. You keep changing the subject.

I just don't have the time for you.
