It is the law for citizens to obey an order from a police officer. Imagine what would happen if every one said screw it and stopped obeying traffic signs or traffic cops. What about emergency situations?
If a person refuses to comply with an order from a police officer that officer may interpret that action to be resisting arrest. If so, the officer has the jurisdiction to use whatever means necessary to achieve compliance.
Most of those who have been shot by police were not complying with the arresting officer.

We have seen the same sort of things out of males also. Timothy Loehman comes to mind but granted, he had already been ruled mentally incompetent but I'm sure there are others.

What excuse or reason do you make regarding the hundreds of male officers who have also panicked and shot unarmed people in recent years?
Philando Castile. Peter Laing blindly shot down a stairway because he panicked.

The Ferguson PD (the Ferguson lower courts, as well) were anything but insane. They were planning, calculated and quite systematic in their approach. They'd even helpfully commit to a certain budgetary figure in fines and court fees per fiscal year, when meeting with city government.

These were the people who'd book you for "misrepresenting yourself to a police officer" if you said your name was Rick and your driver's license said Richard. Yes, that happened.

Only lawful ones. That is an important distinction.

Actually if it's an unlawful request you have the legal right to protect yourself, even up to lethal force.

I think the debate kinda centers on whether the means used here were actually necessary.

“Great Kid” Killed While Committed Home Invasion Pretending To Be Police – Bearing Arms
The teenager left dead after the gunfire, Jalen Johnson, was a student at Hillside High School in Durham. The school’s principal, Dr. William Logan, said Johnson was a “great kid” and called his death a “loss to our school.”
Yeah great kid, a real loss. Don't know why I don't want to move in and get all cozy with the good hearted locals.

Found this there too. Let me get back to my truck to get my carbine officer...

Right , no sane person would do the job, like I said. So the police is just an open spot for a criminal gang. The only sane thing to do is evil.

A law abiding neighborhood puts police in the unemployment line. Ferguson is perfect for dirty cops.

Are not the lead city officials elected? Did they ever try voting?
