Thank you..here are 7 other members of the clergy who hold the opposite view--
“Hey, are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today? No … I think that’s great. I think that helps society. I think Orlando, Florida’s a little safer tonight,” he said to his flock. “It is unnatural for a man to be attracted to another man. The tragedy is that more of them didn’t die.”
To be fair, at least half of them did not say anything that would be possibly interpreted as wanting to kill gay people. Seriously.
I was surprised to see Perry Noble on that list. He's about as squishy as they come. He did not suggest anyone should die for their sexual choices. I don't believe he even said the word "homosexual" in that video.
Matt Barber of Liberty? All he said was that he wanted to pray for gay people and share the Gospel with them. You call that hate speech?
Never heard of the guy. He doesn't speak for me, or other Christians. If people want to go to his church, I have no way of telling them not to. I doubt very much I would sit in his church after seeing that.
You said "all who rail against gays", so according to your own logic all who rail against Christians (like you do), have blood on their hands when Christians are murdered.
Well now....we'd hate to confuse him with logic, wouldn't we?
I'm going to respond, even though I am not a "fundamentalist Christian." When I saw that Glenn Beck (whom I would describe as a right-wing Mormon radical, and with whom I almost never see eye-to-eye) had made a statement on Facebook about the massacre, I went in to read it, expecting some idiotic nonsense. Here's what he had to say:
Isis should know, if you try to kill our LBGT brothers and sisters, you will need to come through us all.
We are one. We will be a shelter and fierce defender of the rights of all mankind. We will always put our differences aside when push comes to shove. When someone tries to silence, cause fear or kill - we will unite and stand against you. Today the colors of the rainbow blend into one bright white light.
Of course, unlike Beck, most of us realize it wasn't actually ISIS that committed the murders, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the man apparently had actually had a lucid moment.
The truth is that vast majority of Christians condemn the murders, and when I say vast, I mean practically all of them. Sadly on this thread people dig and dig until they found one or two individuals who say something dumb, and they portray those comments as the "Christian view". It is horribly dishonest.

Wrong.
Don't you ever get tired of it?
I rail against fundies, like yourself - not Christians.

I agree with you but, as a Christian country, we allow all so that we can practice the "one" freely. It comes with consequences. Overall I believe our country as a whole picks freedom over the desire for less violence. I have found few instances of both religious freedom and a countries decline in violence. I guess we choose our battles.
America is a mixed bag so it's full of blame, judgment, and accusations. It sort of comes with the territory. People are hurt and angry right now, hopefully it calms down a bit after the election cycle.

Cough,,I wouldn't have used that one Vizio. lol There is not a lot of logic being used in this discussion to begin with by anyone.
Muslims and Christians, as a whole, do not condone a gay lifestyle and use a being in the skies words for proof. You do share that conviction with Muslims. Of course, people who don't share your views will be angry and upset when 50 are killed under that premise. Pulling the trigger is only part of it. I know you don't condone murder, most do not, but you do condone the sentiment.
People will be hurt and angry at Christians and Muslims right now. It's your job as a leader in your community to put people at ease and I'm glad for the most part I'm seeing you do this. There's really no room to get "jiggy" with it.
In turn, Christians and Muslims who are not violent in action will feel abused. I get that. But if my brother killed someone's child I'd take the egging that ensued. I would feel bad enough to endure it. I would also understand the connection.
I think I understand the concept from the age of 4 or 5. No book necessary.
