I believe that many people expected that at 12:01AM on 01 January 2008, the State of Arizona would cease to exist and would be deeded back to Mexico! Ten days into 2008, I haven't seen/heard/read any stories of dire consequences concerning the implementation of the new illegal alien laws in Arizona. What I am seeing are stories of illegals packing up and heading back to Mexico and further south; moving to states with weak illegal alien laws, including Pennsylvania and heading for Canada where they'll be welcomed with open arms by that socialist country. Unfortunately, it's a little too cold in Canada for thin-blooded Latinos, but I'm sure that the Canadian government will make climate adjustment centers available for the newly arrived socialists, correction, economic refugees.

Actually; for some reason, the illegals will wear out their welcome very fast in Canada I suspect.

California Yanqui is on a distinguished road
The only real issue is the truth behind the immigration debacle. The power elites say we can't live without them, and the pro open border "Raza" say will shut you down; as Americans continue to hop and skip along: as collectives of tiny minded people spout rhetoric in little cafe's wearing che berat's, only to come out on weekends with a longing for long lost hopes of "a day without an immigrant"

The marches in 05 upset the nation so deeply that it backfired completely and irreversibly for the open border crowd. Anyone in or near LA or Phoenix enjoyed the day of the missing migrant and the traffic flowed.

That fact that the audacity of flying their native flag and flaunting it, especially signs of a Mexican wearing a sombrero and zapatas ( which we would get in trouble for for not being PC Frito Bandito speedy Gonzalez?)saying "you bug so much you woke the sleeping giant" LOL, the marches were the end of the open border days, and it is what has led to today in the callous diregard for "migrant plight"

The sleeping giant has awaken once again, and it's not for anything other then the government performing it's duties to the American citizen, and securing our border, and enforcing laws that already exist. To stop feeding a neighbor that is neither good, or respects us, but for the marjority, has used us to gain and not reciprecate.

Study after study has compiled all the facts one needs to know that illegal immigrations net affect is detrimental and costly. I laugh at California, and Governator stating there's a fiscal emergency? Duh, been that way for ? 10 or more years. The United States is in a Fiscal emergency. So those that never did what you were taught. ( save money, invest wisely, get an education, save enough money to get you through the hard times} you're going to see some hard times if the policies of this country continue disregarding the fundamentals of our nation.

Quite a few Americans of 'Hispanic' heritage were also offended @ the insolence of the illegal immigrants and their lackeys as well.

The third week of the New Year begins and Arizona still exists, illegal alien suspected rapists are caught and thousands of illegals are self deporting.

So, based on the stories I hear so often on this board and elsewhere, in a few months or so I expect to read that crime has plummetted (as has collisions with uninsured drivers), and that schools and hospital emergency rooms are no longer overcrowded, underfunded and underperforming, and everyone has gotten a 20% raise.

Hmmm.
Have to admit I'm curious to see what happens.

Ken

I can tell you that several schools, where there were high populations of kids of illegals, that had overcrowding, are now reporting small attendance by these kids and less crowded classrooms (Cartwright is one).

Also, ER's in the Tucson area have noted less crowding in their ER's.
