It is open now! Saw the looooong line today as I was out and about.
Glad to hear the Mooresville store is now open. They should continue to do a good business as many prefer Popeyes spicey chicken over Bojangles. And according to other posters in this thread, there is also a new freestanding location in Concord outside Carolina Mall. In addition to Concord Mills. And since they appear to finally be entering the Charlotte market, maybe more locations will begin to appear. And next I want to see Roy Rogers.
CORRECTION: Apparently reports of a new Popeyes outside Carolina Mall in Concord are incorrect. It is reportedly a Chick-fil-a. The only Concord Popeyes location is currently in Concord Mills. But there is indeed the new Mooresville store now open. Maybe more locations will soon follow.
Mooresville is a bit of a drive from Charlotte. If they decide to come into Mecklenburg county again, it will be interesting to see what they do that is different this time than when they were here before.
When did Popeye's pull out of Charlotte? Was it before or after Charlotte started growing? Just wondering if the transplants are the main ones supporting Popeye's....
small sample size but everyone from Charlotte (not many, lol) aren't fans of Popeye's.. and everyone from up north who lives here loves it. Not all but most... and when the Concord Mills location was announced you would think they won the lottery the way they were celebrating.

Um, I saw it with my own eyes. It had a Huge Popeye' sign on the front of the building. So unless it changed in the last 2 weeks, it's a Popeye's.
