Coming from a family of ministers and being in a ministry most of my life, I have been in and out of many houses of preachers and others who would preach an entire sermon against immoral sex, and then you just happen to run across their porn, it is always surprising.....The one time I talked my daughter into going to church, the preacher molested her with his eyes and then tried to scoot up next to her to ask her if she worked out, she was 12, and it soured her against religion from that day because of that one sleazy preacher.............You get out of church and go to the grocers and here are the elders and the preacher eyeing some teenage girl that should dress better, and they pay and leave thinking that nothing had taken place, meanwhile, I just happen to be the father of that girl, and I am already making plans lol.....I don't know if anyone could understand but a father, but when a father sees some old Christian man lusting after his daughter, well, it set my teeth on edge and I start drooling, and yet, these men act as if nothing had taken place.
Has it?
I know I am angry, so has something happened there? I mean, that is my point, I think people just don't want to admit what they do. But to see Christian men like that, to then watch them preach a sermon against Homosexuals is just sickening.....
Wonder what each Christian man would say if I asked all of them about porn and whether they watch it or not?
Wonder how many Christian men would actually lie to say they don't ever watch porn?
99 percent?
The States where the Southern Baptists are strongest also has the highest rate of porn use.
And, since you have absolutely no Bible support for your negativity toward homosexual people and therefore have no reason other than a personal one to cast aspersions on gay people I think the shoe might fit.

Well, you're using your Bible to be quite vocal about how God - and therefore you - feel about homosexual people, are you not? So, if you really believe your Bible and you really believe that homosexuals are an abomination according to your Bible, that would qualify as 'an aspersion', wouldn't it? But, maybe I'm using the wrong word. Actually, 'aspersion' is a mild term to use by someone who is on the receiving end of, "You know what? You are an abomination." It's downright abhorrent!
Lev. 18:22 can be true (from God’s perspective) and we still ought to treat others nicely. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.
Then leave God to judge them and open up the doors of your church for LGBTQ people to come worship and share in your social meals. If you and yours can’t do that, you aren’t even pretending to be “nice,” your making a case for how self righteous you are.
Paul taught that the real way to be nice was by treating others as better than yourself—-in humility. Philippians 2:3

As wardendresden points out----the church has justified closing their doors to select "sinners."
The organized church has always restricted access to god on their terms.
Whether by ethnicity, economics, education or just good old status, the church decides who should be allowed to ask forgiveness and the church is always the first to proclaim those who have been fund acceptable by god and condemn those they feel have disappointed god based on their interpretation of "sin."
Strange how such loving and merciful god relies on mere MORTALS to proclaim who is a sinner and who is exempt from god's vengeance and allowed to grope, murder unarmed men, rape, destroy the environment and other behaviors that oppress the marginalized.

We don’t ask people’s sexual preferences when they walk through the door. Everyone is welcome.
somehow I question if two women walked in holding hands, arms around each other sitting in the pews with children would be made to feel welcomed.
Heck, they do in my church. These two women got married, and they wasted no time tag-teaming with the pregnancies. One has given birth to two kids and the other to one. They don't come often, though, probably because they haven't slept in a couple of years.
I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women.
They loved each other like brothers and/or very close friends. It was "philia" type of love, not "eros", so there there was no sexual element involved.
