My annual divine foodie dinner with friends tonight. My dinner started with a rosewater gin fizz, gougeres stuffed with tangy beet salad, then brie fritters with black sea salt, consumme with foie gras slivers, goat cheese raviolini and baby bok choy leaves, beef cheeks in gravy with roasted root vegetables and house made challah, coriander-lime-butter roasted sea bass with sweet potato puree and roasted bok choy, and lemon thyme posset with kumquat slices and almond meringue for dessert. All excellent --former White House executive chef heads the kitchen -- but I have to say that sea bass was absolutely the best piece of fish I've eaten in years. Now, after all that food, I need do my Ode to Jabba the Hut tableaux for while.

It's almost the DD's birthday, so we are eating out. I'm guessing the local Chinese buffet?

Had the traditional corned beef with cabbage on St Patty's day, and today having a new york strip steak with shrooms and brown gravy...

Tasty!! Good eats to all!
