Dinner tonight was some of the best chicken tamales I have ever eaten! My friend's husband made them for the 1st time, which is almost unbelievable to me because they were that good...

I was initially going to share them with my lunch friends at work, but decided to save them for myself. I'm so glad I did. The masa (dough) surrounding the filling was light, airy, fluffy yet firm and perfectly seasoned as was the filling which was moist, but not soggy. I didn't need to use salsa or hot sauce, it was perfect on its own.

Making hubby grill tonight (everything is ready, he just needs to fire it up): chicken wings (with homemade sauce that his dad makes for us in gallon jugs), bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp, broccoli slaw, and watermelon/vodka slushies and apple pie for dessert.
