I love how the right hates big government and government telling you what you need and have to have but have no problem with said government telling you that you must have an ID.

Complete non-sequitur.
Anti "big government" does not mean pro vote fraud.

I don't recall that in my lifetime.
I recall when I got my first job..all I had was my HS ID and SS card and was able to open an account at the local bank and deposit my checks from McDonalds.

I also opened Chrismas Club accounts every year..again had no government photo ID.

Identity theft was not an issue 30+ years ago.

I don't remember needing anything but the money. Even in 2002, when we helped my daughter open an account in her college town in Minnesota, we didn't need any proof of her address. Why would they care? I am 99.999999999% sure she didn't have to show anything except perhaps her driver's license, which had her home address in Colorado. I know we didn't have her birth certificate or her ss card with us.

Times I needed a birth certificate:

College application (1971)

Joining the Navy (1981)

Getting a MD driver's license the first time (1984 or 85). This was the difficult one since all I had from PA was a Certificate of Live Birth (which is the topic of a bunch of threads). It did not say "Birth Certificate" specifically so I had to go back again with a letter from PA stating that what I had was indeed a birth certificate.

Same thing with Mrs. NBP. She also had a problem with her PA teaching certificate, it lists the job classification as Librarian which MD had started to call Media Specialist. The functionary at MSDE couldn't understand the transition. That took nearly 10 years and a pile of correspondence a foot and a half high to get straightened out.

Hey Kat, did you get married in Boonsboro?

There were other states with voter registration fraud, thanks to the ACORN scam in 2008. Now Mighty Mouse and Daffy Duck will need at photo ID, if they wish to vote.

If voter fraud and election fraud are so important then why is the right obsessed with only one kind?

Mmmmm, the Balck Panthers aren't righties. I noticed our justice department wasn't very interested in voter intimidation.

And what makes you think that conservatives don't want votes counted fairly. Does Cook county ring a bell.

Why don't lefties want only eligible voters to vote?

Don't worry Bob, I'm not going outlaw, just exercising my "law abiding citizen" right to disagree with it.

Oh we do have a problem. But our government doesn't.
Not only did Real ID kick in but just last week they extended expiring parts of The Patriot Act.

BOTH SIDES..no fighting even. True bipartisan vote to extend.
Can you imagine that ?

I think we should be able to vote from the internet or from our cell phones. I'm even for an American Idol type election. We all know American Idol is the epitome of voter availability and integrity.
