My neighbors large oak tree that was close to 30 yrs old just blew over. Quite a large tree.
Hope my oak stays vertical.

My sister just lost it in Westchase but it doesn't take much for that to happen in Westchase/TnC area.

Mine, too. I have no idea how old it is. We had an arborist from the county take a look at
it and he said it was pretty solid.

The power out here at my hotel has dropped out a few times in the last couple hours but has came right back every time after a minute,

I know. I heard a female anchor last night saying, as it was apparent the storm might be weakening, "we'll be lucky if we even get a category 3 out of it as it hits land near Fort Myers". Meaning, for god's sake, this thing might actually weaken to a category 2, to everyone's chagrin!!

I'm sure once she realized what she said she winced, but really, what a freudian slip. Yeah. We'd be lucky to get any wished for destruction out of this storm at all.
