It won't get hit hard, Irma turned out to be pretty much a bust vis a vis what was predicted

Everyone can thank Cuba. On to the next storm

Another example the media's unified fake news.

You sound disappointed.

I'm afraid that the lack of destructiveness once the hurricane got to Florida will affect future hurricane evac warnings.

We have a lot to be thankful for, don't we?

Id rather the media over hype an event such as Irma and motivate me into getting out of harms way rather than downplaying the event and lulling every one into complacency over the potentially destructive nature of this storm.

I agree. I still think in the future I'll be evacuating if I can. I kind of botched the decision this time because of the early forecast that it would hit the east coast. I'll be ready next time and hit I75 quickly.

I know there are millions who evacuated up the interstate and aren't happy and now are second-guessing.

Wonder how Key West is today, though. No reason to stick it out there.

That's a different subject than what many are mentioning.

Of course it is better to get out than losing one life!

However some journalists were trying to make Irma sound worse in spots where nothing huge was going on to make and create news as reality was not satisfying these so called journalists.

I haven't seen the damage assessments for the TB area, but it appears that the area got lucky. I've seen worse flooding in the downtown area from a heavy rain shower. Perhaps if we got those feeder bands over and over like Miami/Ft Lauderdale did with this storm we'd have flooding. That Irma's predicted path changed from the East Coast to the West Coast might have been a benefit to TB afterall.....looks like Miami International is closed due to flooding.

Irma! Are you prepared for this storm that seems to be heading out way!

For Sale: barely used, new generator.....best offer accepted.

For Sale: water....bought for hurricane, unused.

Only joking, but you know Home Depot and other businesses made a profit last week selling this stuff. Experienced Floridians know better.
