I'm currently reading Gone with the Wind (not sure why I hadn't before), along with the 2nd Percy Jackson book.

In the last month I've read:

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Wicked: the Story of the Witches of Oz
Ender's Game (loved it)
The first Percy Jackson
Why We Suck - Denis Leary

I LOVE my Kindle.. /lol

I'm reading "The Thorn Birds" for the first time, and loving it! It paints a fascinating picture of life in the Australian Outback. I already know it won't end happily, but that's okay.

Finished Commencement by J Courtney Sullivan, but was not impressed. She may be a Smith graduate who knows what the culture was like at an elite women's school, but she didn't convey it in a convincing way. Writing skills were lackluster. I much more enjoyed her sophomore effort, Maine.

Will be starting the new Anne Tyler, The Beginner's Goodbye and hoping I will love or at least like it...

I just read Tuesdays With Morrie. I have to believe I'm in the minority when I say I didn't really like it. And, quite frankly, nothing against Morrie himself, but I found the book to be quite annoying after a while.

I just finished Ella Minnow Pea and I really enjoyed it. The language was amazing and the backstory was chilling when it's evident that government really can make rules that, while stange on the face of it, can still impact life in ways we never imagine.

I'm still reading Land of Later On but it's slow going because I have a hard time wrapping my head around where he is at any given moment!

I bought The Sand Pebbles for a re-read. I remember how much I enjoyed it when it first came out and I'm looking forward to getting into it with no distractions. This is a busy month so I may have to delay a bit.

I agree with you. I did not care for the book, either.

Just finished 'The Hot Zone' by Richard Preston.

I had no idea we dodged such a bullet.
