I wanted to add that I've been pretty lucky with my neighbors at Quartzsite, except those few I moved away from. We all watched each other 's stuff.

I forgot to report that when I was buying food, I ordered some protein bowls which were delicious but I figured they would take up too much room. Well, one set of six got buried and I found them today.

They can be eaten hot or cold as a salad.

Guess who's having Mexican style salad bowl tonight. Yum

Meo, it's too bad your CD friends couldn't be there in person to say "bon voyage,"
and drop some confetti... but I'm sure we were all there in spirit.

Take some pictures this time?

I'll try figure it out.

Just a quick update. Somewhere in Montana, 200 miles from Billings.

I stopped at a Flying J to fill up,

3.59 gallon. Better than North Dakota. Anyway, a woman stopped me and said she noticed I was alone and it looked like I'm traveling. She is also from MN and surprise, close to my area.

I told her where I was going and she said her sister and husband went to Quartzsite every winter but she didn't know if she wanted to do that without him. I gave her some websites for lone women travelers so maybe that will help.

Her husband asked if I had seen the movie Nomadland. I admitted I hadn't but had read the book.

The woman then said how brave I am and that I was just like the woman in the movie.

I took that as a compliment.

Mandan is where Lewis and Clark spent a full winter in North Dakota after the first leg of their epic journey west along the Missouri River from St. Louis. That is also where they met Sacagawea and her infant son, who let them westward to her homeland in western Montana, and eventually up the Columbia River to the Pacific. You are retracing Sacagawea's steps!

Ah, so that's why there are Lewis and Clark trail signs. That's cool.

I made it to Laurel Montana, 525 miles. I'm tired but not too bad.

Yesterday I was exhausted and didn't get far. I think it is was the final packing of the car and then the drive.

I have to share something with you. I thought I might have left my medication because I couldn't find it last night. I worried all night wondering where they were. I knew if I had left them, I would have to go back to get them.

Whew, this morning I found them. I don't know how missed them last night. But I was so tired and I had left my pillow so I assumed the worst.

So thankful I found them. The heart doctor said I had to take the plavix for a year to avoid blood clots and I don't want blood clots, lol. I would have had to go back and get them as it was a new prescription.

Oh, the sister who went to Quartzsite was alone because her husband died and she wasn't sure what she would do. I hope she finds some relief and answers from the websites I gave her.

I doubt she'll go the nomad route because they owned some sort of unit there but maybe she'll become interested in traveling. It sure helped me get over my grief.

Also, Marigold is adjusting nicely. At first she wanted to go outside and use the outdoors as her bathroom but she adjusted to using her litter box.

So glad I brought the cat tree. She spends a lot of time in it and I know once we stop, she'll again use the top as her look out space.
