It was so cold and foggy by the ocean, I finally gave up at Florence and started inland. From 7:30 to 4:30 I only got 346 miles.

A lot of that was because I had to pull into a pull out to let people go around me as the road was so twisty that I slowed down a LOT. Plus I go the speed limit and that includes when the sign says 30 or 45, I pay attention. I'm used to seeing those type of signs in rural Minnesota and they are there for a reason.

Oh, and gas prices are crazy. As low(?) as 5.19 and then you see 5.49. insane.

I don't know how I forgot to mention this but seeing the devastation from last year's fires was devastating. Miles and miles of burned trees; it just broke my heart.

Yeah it seems every year the fires out west are just horrible. So so sad to see that...

Traveled quite a ways today. I'm only 545 miles from Pahrump. Broke down and am paying for a campsite for the night, $25, not too bad.

BUT, the flies are atrocious!

This place is for RV's though, not cars. I just wanted a place where Marigold could go outside. She's been so good this whole trip.

I couldn't let her out at the kids camp because one of the managers has a cat with feline HIV. I've never heard of it but I am not taking chances.

Went to get gas and one place was $5.09 and just down the road it was $5.49. In Bend it was $5.79. I suppose since it is a college town they can get away with that.

Why do I love the Cube? Because 110 miles from where I filled up (for $52+) it took just a little over a quarter tank. So gas prices are ridiculous but even going over mountains, the Cube did good.

I have Internet but it's super slow. I'll check this once a day but so far nobody is talking so it's a waste of time.
