I am just wondering… and I think the outcome of my hypothetical question would be significant to the future of Ukraine.

Considering that all the lefty commie "internationalists" in the former USSR reinvented themselves as rabid Russian Nazi itching to restore Empire, I don't understand your analogy at all. It seems that having aging guts to express a dissenting opinion constitutes a hostile act towards mother Russia, no sane honest person can do that without being funded by the US State Department.
