Now nobody can accuse Russia for bringing its troops into Eastern-Ukraine. Troops would be brought into Donetsk Republic on behalf of its gov.

If the citizens in Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk want to join to Russia - let them do it!
This is poor subsidized regions. If they remain Ukrainian - there will be insurrections again.

If they don't like Ukrainian language, are afraid of joining to the EU - let them live in Russia! As they say in Russia - It is very difficult to learn a bear to dance if it doesn't want to do

Ukraine will only have a remaining population of 33 million people if these 3 oblasts join Russia along with Crimea and Sevastopol.

And how many people will remain in Eastern Ukraine do you think if these regions will undergo the reforms imposed by IMF?

I think it's mostly industrial workers that will feel more secure in Russia, but for the middle class it's not going to be so easy to accept such move.
But then again, this is the heartland of industrial sector of Ukraine - traditionally so.

Today in Kharkov, Lugansk, Donetsk rebels strengthened their positions. They captured some more buildings. Do not believe if someone says that it's the Russians. The locals did it. I was today at the Kharkov square.
But the situation is still uncertain. Kiev afraid to use force.
