@ KuuKulgur : what's this "memo" worth in International Law ? it's not even a Treaty, and the fact that it is called "Budapest" (it could also be called "the Moon memorandum" lol) doesn't add any more value or authority to this document.

Respect Ukrainian independence and sovereignty within its existing borders.
Refrain from the threat or use of force against Ukraine.
Refrain from using economic pressure on Ukraine in order to influence its politics.

Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
1. Crimea was not part of Ukraine at the moment to join Russia. There held a referendum on independence. 2. Russia does not attack the Ukraine. All military action - is a civil war. No intervention.

Everything is done legally clean.

You got to be kidding?

Even Putin admitted by now that the referendum was a sham and that they invaded Ukraine...

Of course, of course. And the people who rejoiced in the streets of Sevastopol and fired firecrackers were Russian actors sent by Putin and paid by him. And a lie repeated hundreds of times becomes the truth in the end, ( this could be the motto of western medias and politicians).

"What's this memo worth herp derp, it's not even a treaty 2xderp." A country with the 3rd largest nuclear arsenal gives it all away to another country surely doesn't count for shizz in inertnational law and international community. Fact is, Russia selectively follows agreements which it has agreed to.

So, if a get 5000 (or 15000 for that matter) people to demonstrate in front of the city hall of Salzburg that would be a legit reason for Germany to invade us with tanks?

How many people really wanted to join Russia? A very loud and vocal 30%? A majority of 80%? We will never know. All we know is that those 96-97% were a blatant lie, which turned out to be devastating for ethnic Ukrainians and Tatars, which make up about 25% of the population.

I just don't get why they had to mess with the referendum when everybody is said to be oh so supportive of Russia.

I think Putin admitted it only in your imagination. You may believe it, but it's not true.

Because Russia did not want to violate the laws.
