"And now the website of the “President of Russia’s Council on Civil Society and Human Rights” has published a statement saying that only 30% to 50% of the Crimean population voted, and only 50-60% chose for annexation to Russia."

Speaking about the Crimean referendum review authors convey only value judgments of his interlocutors, not appreciating their objectivity and accuracy.
The Council requests the media not to distort the content of this review."
Of course, there are people in Russia who disbelieve in the results of the referendum. But they are few and it is not an official position. And Putin is not being.

Oh so because they make 25% of the population Crimea should be Ukrainian? that's an unheard conception of international law, where minorities must have the power. By the same token, SA should still be governed by the white minority (about 20% of SA population when Apartheid was abolished). Flawed, decadent western conception of "democracy" in the 21st century.

They were basically stripped of their right to vote. That's what I'm complaining about.
@ viribusunitis : so if they had the right to vote (which they still have according to RT, which I agree is maybe not an objective source), you'd have nothing against the reunification of Crimea with Russia? I appreciate we are making progress here!
The Russians have apparently not their hands full with Ukraine, so they decide to violate their neighbor's airspace with military aircraft. Twice during the same day.

What is the point of voting at all in Ukraine when a coup will just toss out the person that the majority voted for? The right to vote becomes a minor issue compared to the issue that an elected official gets tossed out of office not by a vote or other constitutional actions, but by a mob action, and the mob appoints an elected offcial that goes on to sign important legislation impacting everyone in Ukraine.

This is not unusual, has been happening since Russia declared independence, which is a carry over from Soviet times. Not saying it is right, just saying it is not uncommon at all.

I was meaning in a global context, not just for Finland in regards to airspace violations.
