No, those who went on Maidan started it. Because when you change the government by force, the civil war is a given.

I supported Maidan, and most Ukrainians living here supported it.
Show me the "majority" again?

No, it does not mean that Putin lied. This means that there is a war, people are embittered, and that the Ukrainian military did not want to recognize the current military situation.

Or maybe they are fighting for their land, and they have the support of local residents?

If washington junta will be to humiliate and kill people, because they are Russian-speaking, then, yes, Russia is trying to protect these people. And it's not Russian imperial fever.

He is a "curator" ( whatever that means) of "Donbass" battalion and he is saying that the DNRs are "provoking" them them with fire ( although it's not as intense as yesterday he is saying); he wants OSCE "immediately to arrive at the spot."

I still can't figure out what's going on there. How can you have so many people locked in a cauldron, who refuse to surrender ( hoping that international organizations/whatever would pull them out together with their weapons,) and to talk about the "cease-fire?"

The staged revolts and coup after Russia outbid the EU on the bailout precipated the whole crisis.

Coup by IMF has been a recurrent tactic to impose on the debtor government to appoint a representative that answers primarily to the US and private interests. Essentialy, private investors are annexing the territory of Ukraine.
