The picture in my post above is taken at "Russian Youth Forum", Seliger 2013, Diem et cras, non omnis can vigilo. Sed non solum spectare, pauci potest -, it's organized and run by the "Eurasian Youth Union" a youth wing of the "Eurasia party" headed by Alexander Dugin, a Russian ideologue who's combined Stalinism and national socialism and re-branded the mix as "Eurasianism", Dugin' ideas are near mirror reflection of those of Putin and Kremlin clique. Eurasian theme dominated Russian politics of the past 10 years +.

Aleksandr Dugin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alexandr Gelyevich Dugin (Russian: Алекса́ндр Ге́льевич Ду́гин; born 7 January 1962) is a Russian political scientist known for his fascist views[3] and calls to hasten the "end of times" with all out war.[4][5][6][7][8] He has close ties with the Kremlin and the Russian military,[9] having served as an advisor to State Duma speaker and key member of the ruling United Russia party Sergei Naryshkin.[10]

Eurasia Party - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They foresee an eternal world conflict between land and sea, and hence, Dugin believes, the United States and Russia. He says, "In principle, Eurasia and our space, the heartland (Russia), remain the staging area of a new anti-bourgeois, anti-American revolution." According to his 1997 book, The Basics of Geopolitics, "The new Eurasian empire will be constructed on the fundamental principle of the common enemy: the rejection of Atlanticism, strategic control of the USA, and the refusal to allow liberal values to dominate us. This common civilisational impulse will be the basis of a political and strategic union."

Russian aggression in Ukraine was anything but reactive and random. Putin relies on the twisted ideology to guide his actions, it's not a hit and run, Euro appeasers got it wrong.

Are you a specialist on the averaged Russian opinion? It would be tough to claim that for somebody residing in USA. Besides, Russian citizens agreed that them being obedient subjects driven by their dear leader would serve Mother Russia the best, democracy is a rotten tool of the Western domination. Thus Russian opinions are of secondary importance, besides Russian propaganda proved its mastery of the averaged opinions anyway. Russian propagandists can shape Russian citizens to the specific Kremlin orders, and the most recent order is "a blood lusting paranoid citizens standing by their Fuhrer in their holy war against big,bad and evil USA".

Here is what the most favorite Kremlin Ideologue has to say on the matter, I'll cite it again:

Now it makes sense. I used to watch Russian historical documentaries, and roughly 10 year +, the theme of eternal world conflict between land and sea was massively injected in the Russian media, and it just escalated from there.

I remember that Donetsk clan was playing with an idea of federalization in 2004, it didn't go anywhere then. Since Yanukovich took power Donetsk republic organization existed only in the wild imagination of some Russian nazis in Donetsk, Eurasian Youth Union was illegal in Ukraine during Yanukovich reign also. It's not the point though, the point is that the Russian regime discovered, adopted and indoctrinated Donetsk nazi youth at the time when Yanukovich was in power and no Maidan was on horizon. Back in 2013, Yanukovich was heading towards signing an EU association bill. So the old destabilization trick of "Donetsk Republic" had to be activated by the Russians.

While rebels march on Odessa, poroshenko gets a sniper round in the head, thus we can take both.

Not surprised DPolo, there are patterns. I think this has been going on for some time. Erasure may be right in her assessment of Rememberme but I do think he is paid, he's doing his job.

Something developing in Kiev?

TASS: World - Anti-government protest in downtown Kiev escalates

Dozens of people have been gathering near the key airport.
"The purpose of the rally is to demonstrate the military may easily upset air links with the EU countries, if their commanders fail to realize that support for Ukraine’s current authorities is criminal," the Ukrainski Noviny news portal quotes one of the demonstrators as saying.
Ukraine’s first ever strike by employees of the state-run transport enterprise has been announced at the airport.
It's hard to get good information but life in the Ukraine might be getting pretty grim. Ukrainians are a tough bunch though whether they are from the east or west. I do wish all the innocents the best and I sincerely with all my heart hope the people responsible for this end up at the end of a rope.

I feel sorry for Ukrainians, they suffer, always have. People are just trying to raise their families and fight their corrupt government for their bread. Why do they deserve their children poisoned with a message of hate?

I lived in Kiev during Communism. It was safe, we played outside until 10, virtually no crime no street violence. Food and housing was affordable for every-one, gadgetry and cars is another story. A pair of jeans would set you back a month salary, but people did not raise their in fear.

Look at what these "democracy" salesmen did to Ukraine !

When we left, we all left. We lived in the center of Kiev, and we all left, relatives, friends... I don't know any-one that lives in Kiev any more and have many friends in US that were born in Kiev. Other people, from local villages moved into the city to live where we lived. The first floor of the building where we lived is now a BMW dealership. The park where I played now houses a restaurant in which few Ukrainians can afford to eat in. The balconies that we enclosed are still the same way. Some people in Kiev still remind me of the old people that lived there, they talk the same way and look the same way. People are saying that employment is becoming problematic in Kiev, where as there are qualified resources.

I'm American, born and raised here. I also spent a lot of time in Russia from 1994 until 2008 and have seen what the country
was in the 1990s with my own eyes and watched as it actually made progress towards something better. I learned to speak some passable Russian and learned many things about Russia.

I realized that what I was told about the country all my life wasn't all true from the first step off the plane at Shremetyevo IAP. I'm not going into details but most of my reasoning on this stems from the fact that I have seen what Russia and it's people capable of and what they could do as a respected member of the world community.

Sadly such powers as America and Britain are really butthurt because Russia is just one of just a few countries capable of pushing back. I watched Russia try to be constructive and reach out only to be confronted with lunatic hostility. This hostility stems from sheer greed and fear and the nonconstructive mindset of the idiot animals holding the reigns. They're afraid of not being the top thug on the block. They perceive cooperation of countries in this world as a threat unless fealty is pledged to them first and foremost and above all in the face of rising powers like Russia and China, fear irrelevance above all.

Cooperation is not irrelevance or weakness. Humanity the world over would benefit mightily if countries like America China and Russia would work together. Unfortunately for the reasons stated above it's not in the cards.
