It’s one thing to have a slightly different interpretation of events, but some of these people are liars. It’s like they cannot stand the thought of a situation where a black man can be called innocent, so they’ve created an image in their mind of how threatening and menacing he was.

It reminds me of the incident in TX where a cop went into the wrong apartment and shot the guy who lived there and all some folks could come up with was ‘He had pot!’ ‘What does his record look like?’ and ‘She probably had trouble with him previously.’ Some even faulted him for not having any lights on in his own place!!!! Insane!

This guy is even more of an upstanding citizen so he has to be threatening and menacing because they got nothin’.

I guarantee you if he never said what he did or gave the dog a treat (clutch the pearls!) they would be slamming him for something else.
I wouldn’t be slamming him at all if he didn’t call the mob down on this woman for a insignificant argument. And don’t give me that crap about him being innocent and his sister was the one who posted it. I don’t believe it for a minute.

He’s the hero here according to most people so you should be happy.

Because in her own statement she say's she assumed wrong. Maybe she didn't know the difference from being knifed or being filmed. Not only did she not run she walked toward him and threatened him. She was the bada$$ in control the whole time. Not the meek scared school girl.

I bet you can't find a single post on these forums where I have ever complained about racism towards Asians. I don't see the world only through that lens. In fact, I don't usually talk about my race. With you, it's always about your Blackness. That's common for most Black people. As I said, pure narcissism.
As a person of color is who is half black and first generation American. I agree with this.

What happens to the man is in Minnesota was horrible and the officers must do time for thier crime agaisnt the citizenry. Yes slavery was bad as well as Jim crow. I'm a person of color myself and I don't see much racist lens. I see the world in many angles to come to conclusion. That woman in Central Park is an idiot.

I personally cannot comment on any of the argument because we only see what the guy filming wanted us to see. Who knows what was going on before he turned the camera on? His own script of what happened wasn’t good. What happened afterwards? I assume once he had what he wanted he turned off the camera and left the scene. Or maybe the cops did come and it was a big nothing.

Either way the entire incident should have just ended there, but this guy had to get his pound of flesh and post that stuff on Twitter for the mob to take care of. He’s the one who escalated this to the level it’s at. He’s the one who ruined her life when he posted a meaningless argument on Twitter.

From what I saw and from what he said happened, she had every reason to feel threatened. She of course is so cowed she’s apologizing instead of defending herself, but someone’s got to point out the problems with this incident because I think a great injustice has been done to her.

- yes, this is true. We don't know what else had transpired, and yes, we only see what he has shown

- I agree, It really could have of ended there, but because he obviously sent it (immediantly ?) to the sister, most likley saying, "look what just happened to me"....but then "the sister" had to twitterize it.....

but then, we have to think, if the cops did come, would they have of thrown him to the ground, and we all know the rest??? so, that sheds a different light on it, because of the previous incidents.... the big black man, the little white woman all alone...that becomes a gray area now...

they state the cops did go there, but no one was there, so, that leads me to believe that she wasnt that upset, as she didnt stay.

I guess we will never know the full and accurate story, only what we hear.

Thank you! I agree we will probably never know. For all I know she could have said all that just to get him to leave immediately and once he did so did she. It really struck me as the kind of incident that happens in the park frequently that most people just move on from and maybe have a funny story about later.

I guess what made me so mad is how ruined she was over it. She lost her job, was publicly branded a racist so probably won’t get another job in NYC or in finance anywhere, and they even took her dog away from her.

Just in these comments I’ve seen people wish her to be homeless, be jailed, forced to clean houses the rest of her life, etc., all because she called the cops on someone who seemed possibly threatening to me. That she didn’t cower and run away does not automatically mean she didn’t feel threatened.

I just feel like people get extreme about these situations and go way overboard in their reactions. People need to grow up.

Police encounters rarely end up like the guy in Minnesota. This guy seemed smart enough not to get killed in a police interaction where he’s completely innocent and expecting them to show up. I reject the notion that it’s a death sentence and white supremacy to call the cops when one is threatened.

She should be arrested and charged with falsifying to the police and put the guy's life in danger. History is filled with white women/girls falsifying their charges and getting black men and boys executed and lynched.

Let's see......guy who has never had any problems with anyone apparently or someone would have dug that up by now.....who remains cool, calm and collected

vs

Nutjob who appears unhinged...threatens the man....engages in a staged phone call with the police where she lies....has a previous incident where someone accuses her of making false accusations against him

I'm going with the guy on this one. Nothing happened to provoke this nut or she would have made that clear.

Yep. If that little psycho looking gal had been moving towards me I would have backpedaled and been nimble about it.

She knew what she was doing when she told him she was calling the cops and say an African American man was threatening her. She was using her position as a white woman to get out of actually following the law of leashing her dog. Her actions brought her to where she is today.

And for the record, I'm a white woman and I acknowledge that I have a pretty damn privileged place. It's up to us to try and understand what other people are experiencing in this country.
Liberals don't want you saying that anymore. Somehow it is privileged to say you are privileged, or something. Also, plenty of black people are getting annoyed with your "help and support" and didn't want white folks at those protests for Floyd. I saw on video a guy at Minneapolis telling a white person this is not your fight and not your space to be in. Right on. Another white guy got punched by a black man who told him it was because he was white.

Some white women (and men, but women have a special place here) do need to get over themselves but not in the way you may think. I think a woman fawning over a Poor oppressed black man and guilting herself, is even more cringey than Central Park Amy using threat of police to scare the Bird man challenging her over her dog. Obviously it was just that because she left and didn't file a report.
