Galveston, Brazoria and Clear Lake areas are now calling for a voluntary evacuation:

Looks like at the very least it's gonna be a messy weekend on the dirty side of this storm. Looking at a variety of reports, it sounds like 50 mph winds and 8 inches of rain are to be expected.

Current (as of this writing) GFDL model run shows a Houston hit. I've got friends down there, and I'm hoping the best for you folks.

Yes they're drama queens. But this is what these guys live for. They're meterologist afterall. Plus hurricane season means high ratings.
