Okay so my dh says it is either 5 or 10 yrs or for life. So I guess if you look at it that way she got lucky that she didn't get deported for life. He says that is just how the law reads.

I think there's probably more to this story than what's being told here. Had she been deported before? Was she under an order of deportation? The ten year ban sounds like something more's going on.

We have Americans who are in the same shape as illegals but they can't get any help. I'll never feel like they belong in my Country until we start enforcing the laws we already have. In some parts of our United States, it looks like Mexico. We are slipping away unless somebody grows a pair in our government. Patty

Because they basically are Mexico. This I know since I was raised in CA and know Mexico quite well since some of my family lives there.
