thanks for the well wishes, Curm! I hope we all have a super year! Hopefully I will be reporting after Labor Day that we are on our way to south Florida. DH is finally getting used to the idea. Yes, denial is not always a river in Egypt

OMG Brat, frozen pipes! I hope that doesn't get complicated.

Windy, 30F with light lake effect flurries today. Temps will rise into the forties and Sunday we will have a snow to ice to rain event. The fun never stops. Then temps will crash into the high teens by week's end. Gah!

We went to a New Year's Eve Dinner Dance at our Development's Restaurant. Late reservations. How can we stay awake until MIDNIGHT, or sit there for 6 hours!!!!!! lol

The Entertainment was a husband and wife in their 60s. She sang and he played the guitar and sang along to canned accompanyment. Not good at all. It was difficult enough just to stay awake as it was.

Then they invited their 16 year old Grandson to come up and sing. WOW!!!!! Did he have some pipes and rocked the house. Eat your heart out, John Mellencamp! Instantly, everyone woke up and were on the dance floor!!!!! That young man certainly needs to get his own band and move on from Grandma and Grandpa. lol

I for one would have never made it to Midnight without him being there.

When two people have spent their lives together this seems to be the best end possible.

the midweek forecast is for a cold snap that will mean an overnight low of zero. Think I'll indulge in a glass of wine to warm me up.

My weekend forecast is...100% chance of WHINE! lol I have been listening to it all day, every day, from our customers. They are whining about the weather! It's coooooold. It snoooowed! OMG! lol I keep reminding them that it's winter and yes, even Arizona has winters! We are so spoiled rotten, I swear.

I'm surprised the snow is sticking around as long as it is but it's been pretty cold every day and in the teens at night. My yard still looks pretty good. Snow can cover up a multitude of sins. We did lose a big limb off of one the HUGE pines in front of my mom's house. Fell right on top of the mailboxes and smashed them to smithereens!

last time I checked we had -8. I'm sure it's a lot worse now. One wonderful thing about the midwest; we install good insulation, lol.
