I've been struggling to find books lately too, so I decided to pick up Outlander by Diana Gabaldon and see if that's what I'm in the mood for now. I decided I should start re-reading the series as book 8 is going to be out next year.

Last night I started The Reivers by William Faulkner. I don't know what it is, but I'm having a really hard time with it. I first read The Sound and the Fury and then As I Lay Dying and I loved them both. But then I started Absalom, Absalom! and simply could not finish. Reading it felt like a tedious chore, so I gave up. And now I'm already struggling with The Reivers. I'm not giving up on it just yet, but it's not looking promising.

I've started No Easy Day.
It's the story of the US SEALS getting bin Laden.
Well, I have put No Easy Day aside because it simply does not call to me. I'm sure y'all know what I mean. You are reading a book and do something else and don't feel a tug to get back to the book. That's how I feel.

So, I am rereading Saving Millie by Morton Kondracke. It's a love story about Milt and Millie but it is also a call for help to erase Parkinson's Disease. It is really a good book. I have lots of books that I have not yet read but this one wants me to read it again.

It was quite a dull book. It is completely one dimensional and the level of the writing never rose much. I did finish it though. Do I get a prize? I kinda felt like I deserved one by the time I got through. Some writers have a talent for making an exciting life look dull.

I should be finished The Passage tonight and just in time for the sequel. I'm actually not sure whether I'll go to the city tomorrow or the day after to get it (and some other books). We're supposed to get rain, and there's still so much I have to do on the nice days.

I just ordered The Twelve. Boris the Kindle and my computer are fighting and I can't download anything. The file becomes corrupted between amazon and my downloads to the computer. I do not have WiFi and so I have had to take a different route to download (Dawn taught me how, bless her.). So I ordered the hardback book. I am looking forward to reading it. Cronin does have an excellent "touch of the writer." So, I know I will not be bored with it.

Go get your books. I know you have a lot to do but you need some time for yourself, too, Netwit. I demand that you go get The Twelve and a few others.

I just love it when you say that. I had nearly talked myself out of it. Now I'm wavering. I REALLY want some more books but it's supposed to rain the rest of the week. I really should go when it is raining and do some work when it is not.

We'll see what the day brings.

I'll chime in... Go, Netwit, go! Go get your books. You'll be so happy that you did; you'll be so happy to HAVE them.

I'm reading The Dry Grass of August by Anna Jean Mayhew. It's OK. Maybe it's good, actually, and I'm not giving it its proper due after two duds yesterday. But I'm 23% in and I'm curious as to what happens, so I'll take that as a good sign and keep reading.

Thank you. I figured you were going to tell me to go to bed again, Mom.

I was! Right after I posted that, I thought, "Why is she awake again???" And then Artie came over and pawed me, "telling" me that he'd like to go out (again), and now I'm back. I'm back to tell you to go back to bed!!!!
