The only bad parts are the crazy wind and bad internet connection. I may not stay, I'll see how it turns out. Oh well, I went to. Yuma and had the oil changed and stocked up on Marigolds food so that felt good.
Haven't heard coyotes yet. They're supposed to be here but haven't heard or seen them. Of course, Marigold stays in after dusk. I'm just not sure. I rely on the internet for weather and news updates.
Internet is better today but the wind is crazy. It's bad in Quartzsite too though.
I haven't put my small tent up all the way because of the wind.
I'm still not sure I'll stay. Wish I had come here first and then Quartzsite. I was so cold there and Yuma is a lot warmer. Actually, Yuma gets too warm later in the season. The people aren't as friendly here. There's a lot of big rigs as opposed to cars and tents.
The bathrooms are great, the $1 showers are awesome. They even have handicap showers which are awesome. It felt so good to have a bench seat and something to hold on to.
The only downside is that the Walmart is 25 miles away and it's winding roads so it feels much farther. The one in Parker is 35 miles from Quartzsite but it's mostly straight with a 55 speed limit. This one has no speed signs except when it posts 45 so I was unsure of what it is.
I'll stay another day or two and see how I feel about it. I wish people were more friendly here but as far as I can see. I'm the only car camper around. That feels wired.
It's good to check things out and see if it works or not. Sounds like AZ weather has been challenging in those areas (or feeling cold, because of the wind). If there's any other, warmer/less windy, places to visit within 50 to 100 miles or so, it might be a good time to check those out.
I'm going to go back to Quartzsite probably tomorrow morning. Marigold has been unhappy all day. It's not just the heat but she growled this morning and doesn't want to go outside. I didn't see any coyotes but there's something she doesn't like.
She never acted like this in Quartzsite. I hope the wind dies down as that's what is stopping me today. Hard to pack up in this wind
I figured out what Marigolds problem is
It's too warm here and there's no shade. At Quartzsite there were shrubs she could get under, here there's just dirt and no shrubs. She eventually went outside and got under the car to cool off.
You got it. I'm trying to make up for the crummy life she had before me. Besides , we're a team.
