I couldn't figure it out where the growth of international trade was coming from ( since it was obvious to me that it ain't EU that contributes to it,) but now the mystery is solved; China is the major consumer of Ukrainian agricultural products; that's where the positive balance between export and import of Ukraine comes from.

So I'll skip all other intricate details here, and will go straight to the most interesting part of this dispatch;

"If to look at official statistics of the last 7 months, our export fell 7.3%, while import fell 14.7%.
That's why overall we have positive balance.

At that, our export to the EU countries fell 18.6%
Why then did we have such small losses overall?

I'll tell you why; the answer is China.

Somewhat unexpected? Yes, but our export to this country grew amazing 96.5%.
As strange as it sounds, China is the biggest importer of Ukrainian products. And because of our exports to China, our economy stayed afloat during the pandemic. We export to China mostly our agricultural products.
Comparably to the last year, our exchange of agricultural products grew 71%.

China is the main buyer of Ukrainian ore and iron ( as raw materials) as well. The share of these sales was over 64% during the last 8 months. China is buying increasing number of agricultural products from Ukraine ( corn and soya including,) because of the trade wars with the US.

China's course on quick economic recovery after the pandemic allows Ukraine to count on further export growth.

But with time, the strategic ( geopolitical) contradiction can arise, because of our future orientation on China as our major trade partner and the way the US... ( IMF) run our politics, economy and the rest.

So if the confrontation between the "unified West" and China will keep on growing, we can't exclude that we'll have to make yet another geopolitical choice.

In the same manner as it happened back in 2013, when Russia was our major trade partner, but we decided to sign the EU agreement, and we all remember what came out of it."

Interesting developments, to say the least.
Therefore, it is strategically beneficial to invest in the Ukrainian economy. There are many Ukrainian companies and startups that will bring big profits in the future.

If we talk about safe investments, then Ukraine is not the best option in this regard. But now the investment climate in Ukraine is improving, a number of reforms are being carried out in the country that contribute to the conduct of open business. For example, I work with many specialists from Ukraine on outsourcing. But I prefer to checkup Ukrainian company if I plan to work with it in the future.

Busy day for President Ze in the United Kingdom. He and his wife met with William & Kate at the first royal event at Buckingham Palace since the virus shut those things down. Followed by a signing of a new partnership agreement with Britain to build on the free trade agreement Ukraine has with the EU. Finally a deal was struck for 8 new warships, the first two will be built in the UK and the rest in Nikolaev shipyards.

Russian propaganda will be up all night on its response. Plenty of ways to spin this angrily away to the right audience.

I thought he was in Brussels begging for money as usual?

( Was it Barroso who told him recently that EU is not a "banking machine" and not a charity?)

They will be similar to the Roussen-class fast attack craft based on the vita design: 680 tons, 62 meters in length. They are anti-ship ships which are used to defend littoral waters. You can see pictures and a video of the ones Greece just finished up in the link.

Here is a good picture for you. Just imagine a Ukrainian navy flag on there:

It was Josep Borrell, not that I expect Russians to care about details. You are ignoring why he said this as it does not play well with the Putin style corrupt kleptocracy. And he is correct, as usual, no money for Ukraine unless they continue progress on corrupt reforms and not give into Russian nonsense coming out of far eastern Oligarch controlled MP's in the Rada.

Mkay, so he was begging for money again after all?

And those wonderful ships of yours are going to be purchased with what money - the money that he was begging for?

Or this is going to be the *wonderful gift from Great Britain* that will push Ukrainians out of the away in its rush to get some military base in Nikolayev?

Ummm.. Why aren't the Ukrainians building them all?
Oh I forgot, they are not allowed.

Colonies must abide by the rules.

Really DKM.
