They are trying to convince Roper St Francis to get an office here to get a head start on Trident. They also talked about the interchange #198 on 26 which they think will be completed in about 6 years coming right into Cane Bay. I think once the economy turns things will move a little faster, especially after Publix is here.

Eek, I don't know how I feel about the interstate coming right into Cane Bay...I know obviously there will be an off ramp miles from my house, but something about that I don't like.

Also, I wonder if there is going to be another entrance/exit for the community

I feel as if then all and sundry will be passing through our community

Hey- I am guessing you mean you will be looking at Del Webb? The nearest mall with be in North Charleston, however in Summerville proper there are shops at Azalea Square (Pier 1 , World Market etc etc)
Grocery wise, there is Walmart down the street (I chuckle as I type 'down the street' its like 10-15 mins). There's also a Bi Lo you can go to.
Publix should be here by next year ::crosses fingers::

Does anyone know where Lennar, (who bought acres on Cane Bay) is going to build the houses? It was in the paper they are going to begin to build end of next year.

It looks like we’ll be joining y’all at Del Webb when our house is ready around Christmas. I’ve been following your discussion for a couple of years but only now registered for the forum. Thank you all. This thread was helpful in making the decision.

We’ll be in a Surrey Crest loft on Tranquil Waters Way. I believe it’s the first loft they’ve sold at Cane Bay. We liked the Surrey Crest, and when we found they’re now offering the extra rooms upstairs we decided that would be ideal for guests -- and we expect a lot of guests when we move to Charleston.

Do they have a model of the Surrey Crest with the loft?

Rather B

Welcome to Del Webb. You will love it here. A few foundations have already been put in on Tranquil Waters Way. We have been waiting almost 3 years for that street to be paved. Not sure where you are from. You are moving here in time for Publix, which is supposed to open sometime in March. We all can hardly wait including those in Centex and First Coast.
