I'm not surprised that the Patriots did not exercise Vince Wilfork's option. The Patriots generally release "older" players to keep young. I was a little surprised they franchised Gostowski and not McCourty, but I am hoping these moves were to free up space to sign Revis to a contract. Also, the buzz about Andre Johnson is interesting - I would like to see him on the other side with LaFelle.

A change of scenery might do AJ some good. What do you think about Maclin becoming available? He'd be 2 yrs removed from an acl injury and is still fairly young.
It will be sad not to see Vince out there. He always brought a lot of toughness to that front line and he was a great guy on and off the field.
How many years can he have left? I wonder if he demanded a pay raise or was willing to stay where he was salary wise?
The NFL is a business and no one treats it like that more than the Patriots. They have made some hard decisions that have left us fans saying "WHAT" but they always seem to do the right thing for the team. We have to have faith.
Welp we lost Revis. Sad to see him go, but am thankful for what he did for us en route to winning another Super Bowl. He got his ring and now wants to get paid in a big way to finish out his career. He's content winning just on Super Bowl.
Good for Revis. He's earned it. Too bad he'll be playing golf next January with all of those riches watching Brady march towards #5.....at least one can hope.
I guess the Patriots truly believe in their system and coaching. On paper so far the Pats have lost a lot. But I cannot argue much given their success during the Brady/Belichick era.
