Ryan Fitzpatrick is throwing for a ton of yards this year too. Doesn’t mean he is a good QB or even average one.

How many points do YOU see here??

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Devin McCourty returned an interception 84 yards for a touchdown, and the New England Patriots' defense smothered the Buffalo Bills' anemic offense in a 25-6 win on Monday night.

So Derek Anderson is the “strongest part” of the Bills team? Admit it. You forgot about the pick six because I am assuming you did actually watch the game. Bills defense, the strongest part that you hinted at, did not give up that TD.

To have a back and forth about the Patriots and Bills is comical at best. I don't care how good or bad the Patriots are perceived to be playing right now, but the Bills have not even come close to the stratosphere the Pats are in. In fact I think the Bills are still on the tarmac.

The Pats to Pats fans standards are not playing on all cylinders, yet are 7-3. I can point fingers at and complain about many aspects of the way the Pats currently are playing. From coaching to Brady to the receivers to the defense - not entirely pretty. The final 6 games of the season will tell the tale, and I feel this upcoming Jets game will be the defining moment for this season.

Nobody expects the Patriots to drop a game to the Jets. That would certainly be concerning. I could see a close game since it's a division game and the Jets just got humiliated. They should have extra focus. Patriots need the defense to step up.

Brady is still as smart a QB as you can find at the position. And with Gordon, Edelman, White he still has plenty of weapons even with Gronk. McDaniels is always finding new ways to get players open as well and never afraid to use trick plays. Maybe his struggles this year have been much to do about nothing or maybe it is the start of a decline? Time will tell. His success is somewhat due in part to perfect timing. Being even a fraction of a second slower in the short passing game could be allowing defenders the extra time to close on the receivers in a game of inches. The result would be a QB that looks the same as usual to the naked eye but a passing attack that is no longer able to thrive at it's usual efficiency.

It was a win, Jets or no Jets. Too many penalties, a defense in dire need of a bonafide pass rusher, an offense still struggling to find a rhythm. If Michel can stay healthy and not become Gronk-like with injuries, he appears to be a dangerous running back.

Such an odd year this year.

Can't really complain being 9-3 and currently the 2nd seed which only we can give up by losing. If the Chiefs lose once and we win out we're the #1 AFC seed. Beating the Vikings 24-10 on the surface looks like a solid win, holding them to 10 pts.

What's odd to me is the eye test. The defense looks unstable. The offense is leaving more points behind this year than I can ever remember. I'm not saying we should simply be blowing out every team every week. There's been suspect play calling by McDaniels. Brady throws behind receivers more than he ever has (even with 300+ yds passing). I can never remember being this late into a season in the era not being able to figure out this teams identity. They still don't seem to have one.

I agree with the lack of identity....especially on offense really still trying to find themselves....

Check out this article and look at the date it was written...August 1st by Doug Kyed who I consistently find to be one of the best Patriots beat writers. He nailed it regarding the likely play of Tom Brady this season before the season even started.

As for the defense, I am actually feeling cautiously optimistic. They have played fantastic the past couple of weeks and the D is really coming together, much more fluid and dynamic..less vanilla. Consistent pressure from the front 7 even if they aren't getting sacks and terrific play in the secondary...for the most part great tackling

Jason McCourty is a clear upgrade over Malcolm Butler, Gilmore playing lights out, Flowers is a beast and signs that even Donta Hightower is coming on....

I feel MUCH more confident in this defense compared to the hodge podge signing guys off the street D of last season....when a washed up James Harrison becomes one of the most important players on your D there are problems.

This isn't the Bruschi-Vrabel-Seymour-Law defense of the 2000s but I think this D could make the one or two stops in a playoff game which last years couldn't and was the difference in winning or losing the SB

Doesn't matter that Gostkowski stunk. Doesn't matter that the defense is not that good. To lose on a bush league backyard/schoolyard play against a 6-6 Miami team may be the most telling sign of the Pats Super Bowl chances this year.

I heard that in three of the patriots Super Bowl winning seasons they lost to the Dolphins in that same year. So I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.
