It is like someone turned on a switch . . . cause suddenly, hubby is the most pleasant person, no more hateful bitter old prickly pear. I am not asking questions (may later, but not now!) - just being thankful and enjoying it.

We have had lower temps than usual here in NC -- 80F or a bit lower. Never have experienced that this time of year, for extended periods of time. My electric bill is going to reflect that and I am very pleased!

Hope you all have a pleasant Wednesday, wherever you may be.

LOLOLOL. Possibly . . .

We had a little "scare" (media-induced) here in Charlotte this morning.

As many of you may know, Samaritan's Purse, a Christian outreach organization headed by Franklin Graham, is located in Boone, NC, and one of their employees with a team serving in Liberia was exposed to and contracted Ebola. The doctor was living in Charlotte, evidently, prior to joining the team in Liberia.

This morning, part of our main hospital's ER was "quarantined" and the speculation quickly spread that somehow this was associated with a family member visiting the doc in Liberia and bringing Ebola back. Talk about urban rumors . . .

There was never any suggestion by anyone at the hospital that a patient "exhibited Ebola symptoms" but look at the headlines:

DHHS: Patient tested at CMC did not exhibit Ebola symptoms | www.wsoctv.com

More likely, this could have been precautions taken in regard to possible infectious TB, which people don't seem to realize is spreading all over the country. It is not an epidemic - I think maybe 160K or so people contracted infectious TB last year - but it is definitely something that ERs are aware of and deal with.

Just really got me the way media (and social media!!) went wild with speculation and rumor-mongering over this situation.

really best to you as you and your husband go through this.

it is kind of the flip side (for me) when I look at long married couples and think "how nice" and I think of all they have shared, good and bad, and here they are still together. A kind of 'good for them' thought.

But there are bad days and bad times as well, and it is easy to forget that. So I wish you well through these tough times.

But you are strong and you will get through this. My prayers for the good days to continue. And if not, you can handle it. That tarheel knows how to kick.

What nice news. I'm guessing that he probably didn't enjoy being that way either. Lets hope this is a permanent condition and that what you've had to deal with was just a weird aberration.

I'm craving some chocolate gelato but don't have any. The 20 mile trip to town and back isn't worth it. So, either the craving will go away or it will get to the point where I will make the trip.

Tomorrow is supposed to be Costco day with my friend going along but I'm not feeling much like going since it's 90 miles each way and I'm not really down to the very last of the things that I buy there. think I'll see if she can and wants to wait another week or two.

Isn't it amazing how well we really do get to know one another posting here over the years? Yes, this tarheel does know how to kick, lololol.

Hubby went to his primary care doc today and while there, his doc had him text me with a message - that he was going to get to the root of this, especially the anger management issue. Hubby revealed to his doc that he has always been somewhat OCD and wired tightly and that in reflecting on his demeanor, he realizes he has not "been himself." When he returned home, he said he told his doc he was ashamed when he looked back at his outbursts, but at the time, going into a rage was an automatic response and he didn't seem to recognize that he was on a rampage til already in the middle of it.

His doc's response, he said, was that this much pent up anger was the top concern to deal with right now (and I agree). I worry that he has incurred some type of frontal lobe damage, frankly. Well, worry is not the right word. I had speculated over time that this is one of the possibilities, based on having in the past dealt with folks who have had frontal lobe damage (due to strokes or Alzheimers).

He is putting hubby on an SSRI and if things do not improve, then I am assuming we will need an MRI to take a look at his brain. I am so relieved. Seeing as how hubby's behavior (self-control?) has improved the last few days, I am thinking, at this point, that he does not have brain damage but I am guessing time will tell.

That's a long trip.

I am going to miss being within 10 miles of a Costco once we move. It will be more like your situation - I will be 1.5 hours away. We will have a Sam's at our "new" location, within 5 miles.

Also, no Trader Joe's, but there is an ALDI near the Sam's.

I have never had chocolate gelato but now I am very curious!

I'm beginning to wonder whether all Aldi's are the same. A number of posts here have indicated it's a great store to shop at (I believe its founder owns Trader Joe's). However, our Aldi's here is a terrible disappointment. It's all low-level packaged stuff, aisle after aisle of boxed and canned stuff. Produce from who knows where and not very nutritious looking (hothouse tomatoes, pale iceberg lettuce, etc). Nothing organically grown. So I'm wondering if the Aldi's in other areas of the country are much better (?)
