Both those high schools do have excellent reputations! There are many parishes all over the valley, and one doesn't need to live near one to find a nice place to live with families and kids (even if they aren't all Catholic)!

How is everything going after settling in?
Also, where did you end up moving in UT?

The food is different, ppl are different and they have a weird way of naming their streets. But its been overall very nice for us. My wife and kids had never lived through a winter before, but they love the snow now.
We miss family back east but economically its been great and we would do it again if we needed to. Let me know if I can answer any questions.

Good, it took awhile to understand the "Utah" way of doing things. Like every town having a Center St and Main St and such. BBQ and Pizza seem really low quality. And then there is the snow...
But we have made friends and the kids like the school and soccer teams.
We ended up in Bountiful, Davis County. Mostly because that was where we randomly found a place over the internet. Odd thing is, Utah is about as safe as it gets. I see ppl with cars and houses unlocked all the time. Never seen that in Orlando.

I am glad to hear that you and your family are doing well.
Do you children attend public or another school?
Do you have to drive into SLC for your jobs? If so, how is the commute?

orlando, huh? my wife's family lives in debary. small world. welcome to utah (even though it has been a year).
EDIT: and to jacons, as others have said, both catholics schools do have good reputations, though the extent of my actual knowledge of the schools is from 10 years ago. also, i don't know anything about the smaller chapels, but the cathedral of the madeleine in downtown slc is a very cool building, and the catholics that run it are very nice people. we used to take tours there for youth programs, to learn about other religions and stuff.

You may want to check the classifieds or start another post to get answers from the public.
