Donetsk used to be the 2nd most important city in Ukraine's economy and the power it had 5 years ago was unmatched. And now its a backwater shell of its former self.... I digress.

Kharkiv factories now humming with activity with mostly defense and rearmament programs happening, partially funded by NATO. You would be even more upset if you visit and see the mood of the university students in the city who are learning all about Europe and taking trips there on their breaks. They go to Warsaw and ask themselves if their own city can get to that level and how. And now this, European investment expanding their metro, new trains (badly needed) and modernizing the whole bit. Sorry, but Putin had his chance to improve Kharkiv before and win the hearts and minds there in a positive way. As for the loans, you are ignoring how ERBD works and why they pay for themselves from the modernization they employ and the savings from non corrupt bidding processes. Both funds are basically subsizded by the EU taxpayer so its hardly accurate to say that Ukrainians are getting a bad deal here.

Are you angry about the Chinese investment in Kyiv's metro? How about Germany looking to build a badly needed bridge in Kyiv? All those wealthy people from Donetsk are making Kyiv crowded.

You mean they are crowding THIS Kiev then?

Some people are angry at the slow pace of reforms, its good to see. Nobody will be shooting them now that Russians aren't brought in to deal with them.

Point me pls at the banners protesting "slow pace of reforms." The ones that people carry.
May be they are chanting "speed up the reforms" too, but I mistakenly hear "impeachment" instead?

Oh it were *Russians* that were shooting them at Maidan now?
Or was it personally Putin?

Perhaps it's harder than what the programmed minds ( like yours) are set on.
So you are saying that "people are upset that the reforms are going too slow?" And that's why ( according to you) they insist on impeachment of Poroshenko, who "doesn't implement reforms fast enough?"
Let's look closer into mentioned above reforms, shall we?

"The only thing on the IMF wish list which got done was a first reading on pension reform – two more need to be done as the Rada comes back to business in September. Not much was achieved on the land reform agenda – albeit the IMF seems willing to cut some slack at least until the end of the year. There was backtracking on energy price reform/adjustment.

So what do you think all these "adjustments" are all about?
Is it the kind of reforms that your average Ukrainian is looking forward to, and can't wait long enough until all these reforms implemented in full?
Let me make it even more clear to you;

"I would argue that this suggests that Ukraine needs some tough love at this point, with the IMF, and the international community, playing hardball with Ukraine – no more IMF disbursements until we see real delivering on the anti-corruption agenda, pension reform, energy price hikes"

So what you keep on touting, is "corruption reforms" erroneously believing that that's the only kind of reforms that "prevents Ukraine" onto its happy path to European paradise.
You are totally oblivious to OTHER reforms, that has been pushed onto Ukrainians under this pro-American government, like cuts in medical care, pensions, and hikes in their energy bills. These are precisely the reforms that suck people dry, not to mention that now they are going to be deprived even of their land.
But Ukrainians are dumb, and they are led to believe that it's all about the "corruption in the government," and once the *corruption* is gone, their energy bills will miraculously go down, their medical care will expand and their pensions will go up.
Yeah, right.
They ( and you) need to start paying attention to another important part of these "beneficial arrangements," such as "stunning performance of Ukrainian GDP warrants."

"Ukrainian GDP warrants have posted a stunning performance, rallying from just 30 cents, to 58 cents as of writing, so close to doubling your money. On issuance I argued the structural was inappropriate for Ukraine – and I think this is now showing effect – as buy back costs continue to rise."

https://www.kyivpost.com/article/opi...mic-signs.html

Doubling WHOSE money exactly?
Surely not of those, who saw their pensions cut and energy bills doubled. But you insist that those are the very people that are pushing for "reforms" that are not happening fast enough - i.e. they are not robbed fast enough of their money.
As for "corruption" - yes, the current pro-American puppets want their cut, that they think they rightfully deserve while subjugating their people under the foreign masters, and promoting hatred of Russia. They, too, want "European vacations" and property in London for job well-done. They don't think all the profits should go directly to foreign bankers, avoiding cuts to the "middle men" - i.e. current Ukrainian government. ANY Ukrainian government serving foreign masters will hope for this cut.
I am still not sure why American puppet Saakashvili, who is currently organizing the latest circus, has been thrown out of his own country.
Probably need to ask Georgians about this one.

Yet the reason for the rally in your video is actually based on slow pace of anti corruption reforms. I get why pro Russians want to pretend that people are content with a Russian mafia style of corruption in their government. Any thoughts to the contrary are a danger to Putin.

Today Putin gave his rationale for attacking Ukraine: To show that removing the president like Yanukovich was turns out bad for the people.

The anti-corruption campaigns are now more or less synonymous with purges or coups worldwide. The protests and the social media campaigns are often staged with the training and funding coming from foreign sources.
