So the nation is not sovereign if we tell them to fire a corrupt prosecutor before we lend them money? You see no connection between loaning people money and having conditions about making it hard to steal the money? It was their choice, fire the guy or don't take the money.

Again, the sanctions are in place for certain things such as those around Putin who use his rule to steal money from Russia's 99%, or use it in ways to attack others. Its not a blockade.

I think you don't understand what blackmail is. if this is blackmail, then the IMF is blackmail.

Uh, a little vague? The army has definitely been receiving training, supplies and soldiers on contract earn their pay. Currently about 250k contract soldiers (far more than in 2014), enough to hold Russia at bay. New tanks, vehicles and etc. So spending is up and certainly the results show it. Has some been wasted? I would not doubt it.

Russis is actively military involved in Eastern Ukraine, even though it denies it: The official Russian version of events is as follows: In eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian army is battling Ukrainian army rebels, the so called "people's militia." A civil war is taking place between the nation's own people.

Russian human rights observers, however, assume that Russian soldiers have long been involved in the war in eastern Ukraine. They are convinced that not only volunteers or mercenaries are fighting there, but regular Russian army soldiers. Many of them are in a tragic situation, risking their lives in a war that, according to their own country's account, isn't being led by Russia at all.Disowned and forgotten: Russian soldiers in Ukraine | Europe| News and current affairs from around the continent | DW | 29.08.2014

In addition there is a secret burial of Russian troops in Ukraine.
The mysterious burial of soldiers in the Pskov cemetery a few days ago alarmed human rights observers and members of the military. Shortly after the funeral, even the names of the victims and the wreaths from their army comrades were removed. While two cases of secret burial are known about, the figure is assumed to be higher.Disowned and forgotten: Russian soldiers in Ukraine | Europe| News and current affairs from around the continent | DW | 29.08.2014

Ukraine has been part of Russia for the last... 300+ years, Russians still live in Ukraine, and Ukraine is an economic ( and not only) zone of Russian interests.
And America is involved in Ukrainian military affairs... remind me again - exactly why?

Well Eire was part of the UK for over 300 years too. In addition Eire also became a 100% English speaking region. Also London and many English cities have for such a long time been flooded with people from the Eire. Yes there are Russian speakers in Ukraine, but it does not necessary mean they are Russian. I am aware that Kiev and Oddessa are majority Russian speaking. Of course there are those that consider themselves Russian, and its a heated topic. Also there are German speakers in Switzerland but it does not mean they are German

NATO is more likely to split up these days than Ukraine join it. However it might some day be part of the EU. I am aware there is a lot of issues that has problems with Ukraine such as poverty and curruption. However Russia does have troops in Eastern Ukraine. But each side trying to force a solution that will benefit them is clearly not working.

Also the Mothers of Russia, is exposing Russian human rights violations of its military,
and fighting for the rights of its veterans Êîìèòåò ñîëäàòñêèõ ìàòåðåé Ðîññèè - îôèöèàëüíûé ñàéò

Well it is possible for Russia to get better relations with Ukraine, and Russia neighbours.
