We didn't end up getting any snow, but it was definitely chilly when I did my circuit this morning. Very happy to get home to a warm cuppa Joe.

The poster who talked about seeing roses inspired me to look for them this morning. Yup--amazing how many bushes are loaded with them. Never noticed before. Thanks for pointing that out. Good subject for my daily photo today.

Roses????? Everything's asleep here. Nothing but pine trees. The grass has been dormant for months. I had a parsley plant in a pot that held out and I dumped it out last night, it had gone to seed. Good intentions......

LOL...that's exactly what I was thinking. It's still 75-80 here during the day and down to about 45 at night. The house is chilly enough in the morning to turn the heat up for a little while but it's great from then on. Nov. to June is about as close to perfect as you can get here! It WILL get cold in a couple of months but I never wear more than a sweatshirt or light jacket year round.

Up my way, too. Wonder if that last rain caused it, or if the bushes somehow pushed for one last spectacular bloom? Maybe there's some sort of mechanism in a plant that knows it's the last chance to bloom for the season, so give it all you've got.

I've only been to Florida twice in the winter time...Dec and Jan. I liked it while I was there BUT I'd die from the heat/humidity in summer. I lived in Detroit for five years and that was my first experience with that type of weather. Decided I wanted NOTHING to do with it and moved back to Arizona.

I think knockouts have a longer bloom season and your move a tad more to the south Can make a major difference in flowering seasons. Much because of ground temperature.

in_newengland, please tell m what cured your sinus infection. I'm into it four months and getting the fatigue/exhaustion back. My stomach is doing flip flops like the stomach flu.. I did two weeks on Cipro and am nearing the end of two weeks on Augmentin. Little relief.

LOL my folks had a Goth wedding in Vegas, first and last time Mom will be there, she said it felt like you were going to melt into the pavement when she got out of the cab.
