He also said on the first day that they acknowledged republics and their current borders. Next day that they will negotiate original borders (oblast borders), and next day they started “operation”.

Putin is a murderer, dictator and a liar. Evidently, plenty of Russians like that he is the new Adolf Hitler.

There aren't many good-paying jobs in Russia - the economy has been a casualty of the rule of Putin and his oligarch cronies. No business can really rise above the suffocating corruption. I guess being a Kremlin internet troll is good work if you can get it, for them.

The Russians are a bunch of cowards whose fallback is always to threaten nuclear weapons use. If the Ukrainians can drag this out for a while, the bloodthirsty Russian soldiers will quickly get demoralized and a heavy death toll will give the political leadership second thoughts.

[Mod cut: orphaned]

If anyone lost, though, it is Russia. Their economy will take a huge hit. Permanently. And if you now say Western economies will take a hit as well.... taking 50 000 from someone who makes 5 bucks per hour (Russia) is more painful than taking 50 000 from a billionaire (West).
They are already pumping billions in the FX market to prop up the falling ruble.
Russia is used to losing, though. 28 million decimated in a couple of years.

Russia is a dictatorship.

What did you say? Do tell...

Long story short "America sucks". Yes, some people wouldn't like it but hey I didn't show nude pictures of children or a threat to kill someone, there is no reason for action, it should be free speech - something apparently you don't have in America.

Right. And Russia, led by former KGB officer Putin, is all about freedom of speech.

Not even your PM is backing Russia anymore.

Why would the Russian economy take a huge hit? It’s a natural resources economy. Germany will buy all the natural gas the Russians can pump to them. The west will buy any and all oil they produce and all the minerals they dig out of the ground. The west doesn’t have the political will to send troops. The United States will only deploy military where they have overwhelming superiority. US troops in the Ukraine is a political impossibility.

So I think Putin will grab as much of the Ukraine as he can get away with, what’s left of the Ukraine will be forced to sign a sham “peace treaty”, and it will be business as usual a year from now.

"5 Million Russian Citizens Left Russia Under Putin: Young, well-educated Russians are seeking a better life abroad".. and polls show that far more young Russians want to leave, especially those with better education. Why would so many young and well-educated Russians desire to leave the Great and Glorious Republic of Putinstan - the land of milk, honey and freedom? I wonder how many Americans and Europeans immigrate to Russia?
