I honestly don't blame them for misunderstanding - English is not their first language. Plus they are so earnest in deflection. Putin has singlehandedly turned most of the planet against him and created an international hero of Zelenskyy in one fell swoop. Folks on other forums are saying things like Zelenskyy couldn't have been flown to safety because his iron b***s are so big the plane wouldn't be able to take off.
The Ukrainian people have shown what bravery and courage looks like in a modern-day David & Goliath scenario, and regardless of the outcome of this war, Putin has cemented the public opinion of himself and Zelenskyy. I don't think he is even able or willing to see this, and I doubt his sycophants and acolytes dare to inform him.

At first the world was slow to rouse, but nations are waking up to what Russia is doing to Ukraine and realizing that they may be next. Russia's central bank has had to raise the yield on Russian bonds from 9.5% to 20%. Norway and Austrailia have announced that their sovereign wealth funds will divest all Russian assets. Economic sanctions are being piled on Russia - this is the way to engage with Russia's imperial ambitions to reconstitute the Soviet domination of Europe - don't engage them in the shooting war they want, but make them so poor, for so long, that they will never want to attack another country again.

Vladimir Putin has put Russian nuclear forces on the highest alert. Such is the crazy dishonesty of the Russian propaganda machine, that even when they are invading a much weaker neighbor, they are constantly screaming that they are under threat, while they attack.

Russia has never really developed a successful economy under Vladimir Putin's suffocatingly corrupt reign. They have natural resources of course, but that is not due to anything they have done. Besides natural resources, alcohol and weapons, about all that Russia can export is propaganda and misery.
