In overthrowing the previous government the nazi element came out. Obviously most of Ukraine are not nazi, they are just people. After Poroshenko took office the nazi element still rioted for the war with the Russians. So Kiev would send em to fight the Russians to be crushed... This Nazi/Bendera element that could threaten Kiev and kept revolting, the hardliners would get killed by the Russians....
Poroshenko's government could not, not go to war, because the Maidan Nazies rioted and would have overthrown Kiev again. Sending the nazies to war to get killed leaves only political enemies for Poroshenko. He no longer has to answer to the street mob, the street mob is getting killed by the Russians....
Poroshenko himself needed time to gain control of Ukraine. Soon we will see the real Proshenko.
J.Hawk’s Comment: So it’s coming to an end. It’s only a matter of how many troops make it out alive. But the loss of equipment, combined with earlier losses here and everywhere, put into question the UAF’s ability to conduct large-scale operations for a long time to come. The days of “Victory” have come to an end. The days of “Treason” are only beginning… Poroshenko and others were able to avoid reckoning for the earlier Ilovaysk debacle apparently only by promising a rematch. They seem to have lost that one too, and Round 3 does not seem in the cards. But Round 2 is the only thing kept all the different factions of the very fragile "pro-European" junta together.
If not for the people like McCain, EU and Obama would do appeasing of the Russian fascist regime unopposed. Looks like EU and Obama sold out Ukraine to the rabid Kremlin maniac anyway. I was kinda left leaning, but looking at all the leftie rags and gurus praising Russian imperial rights I cannot take leftism, all the Venesuelas and Bolivias posturing seriously. You complain about American "imperialism" and then turn around to praise Kremlin Fuhrer and fascist imperial regime he runs? Lefties and 3rd world hypocrites have lost all the credibility, they have no moral right to complain, you are OK with Russian imperial fascism, you are OK with anybody' else, even it is aimed at you. The right is the most consistent, the least hypocritical political force.
That "Kremlin Furher" came straight from the nineties. Don't you know it by now?
