I'm stunned about the out come and feel sorry for the Alexander family. Perhaps it is great news for Jodi but she is not allowed to give more interviews and will sit in her jail cell and wonder what will happen.
After thinking about this latest turn of events for a while, I think we all should feel pretty good about where this thing has ended up. We got 99.9% of what we hoped for. The jury DID find her guilty of murder in the 1st degree. They DID find Travis died a cruel death. All they left was that she may not get death, but at least they didn't do what that jury did in the Casey Anthony case and set a murderer free.
Although Jodi is now saying she wants life in prison, remember the interview where she said her family lives long lives and she couldn't fathom living locked up for all those years. I think that was one of the few times Jodi told the truth. I feel those were her true feelings and she is starting to realize that her worst fears about that are about to come true. She may put on a brave face and say she is going to bake cupcakes for the inmates and teach them yoga, but she is about to find out that will not be what the rest of her days are going to be like.
I agree Juan should call it a day and save the Alexander family from going through another day of seeing this little tramps face. Take life without parole and get her sent up to the big house where they won't be giving her makeup so she can do interviews with every TV station in the world. Let's put this trial behind us and let the Alexanders start healing........there is nothing to be gained by dragging it out any longer.
Sentence her to LWOM = Life Without Makeup----that would really kill her!
Good one! And given she has longevity genes, it's going to be a long road. Like Don said, after some time in prison, she'll be lucky to look like Donavan!
Just heard on CNN, they're reporting jury was 8 for DP and 4 for life. I can't believe Judge set a new date 2 mos from now. Enough already. Time for Martinez/DA's office to cut their losses, and if possible just work out a plea deal for LWOP. Forget about a new jury.
After JA's media blitz, she's made sure not just Maricopa County, but in the U.S. it's going to be hard to find 12 people + alternates who have missed her numerous media appearances.
A group of 20 somethings who don't keep up with trials, there's an abundance of those.
If you went to the relationships forum and asked about the case, half would be unfamiliar with the trial particulars with the exception she received 1st degree murder unless they googled.
Prison without parole is an option. Society may be safe from Arias, Arias won't be safe from inmates unless she receives total confinement 23hrs a day.
But prison is full of inmates who have hurt, abused, and murdered others. I think if she ends up in the general population she'll be a diva-like celebrity inmate, like she apparently is now in the Maricopa jail.

I don't think so. Hardened prisoners are pretty streetwise and know a phony when they see one. The really tough inmates are going to hate someone who is as prissy and "holier than thou" like Jodi. They will love taking her down a notch or two. She will be lucky that for the first 3 years she will be pretty segregated from the general population, but then she will be eligible to go to a "controlled " situation where she will have one cell mate.
